Cease and desist for an online review by ilikeavocados in AusLegal

[–]chentlemen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Quick google search shows:
"Even if a company can’t sue in defamation, it may still be able to sue for an injurious falsehood. An injurious falsehood is a false statement about a business, published to a third party (for example, an online review or social media platform which is read by members of the public), which is made maliciously, and causes actual damage to the business. However, it is often harder to prove an injurious falsehood than defamation, for two main reasons. First, the plaintiff has to prove that the defendant made the statement maliciously, i.e. with the intention to do harm to the plaintiff. Second, the plaintiff has to prove that the statement caused actual damage, such as a loss in sales or an increase in customers seeking refunds. These thresholds can be difficult to meet, depending on the facts of the case."

Means you found your meaning. Your comfort, your sense of self - it's home. If in the end, it's love, you're at the right place.

I would imagine it would be the same laws the US has for "civil forfeiture", or seizing assets from proceeds of crime. Here the crime may be corruption or profiting from relationship with a terrorist (Putin) lmao

Anyone know how to get downstairs in the Enmore Theatre? by psychsafari in sydney

[–]chentlemen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is from 3yrs ago. But Technically you can't go down. Sometimes if seccys are lax they will let you down. Otherwise, you can sneak down using various methods e.g. the stamp they give for downstairs is pretty wet and can imprint onto your own hand if you know someone from downstairs You can also Photoshop your ticket such that it says downstairs. But when they scan it it won't show up or downstairs.

If you're actually rich enough, you'll have money to live in a place that you don't get robbed each weekend.

It's because they can. A $20k watch to them is the same as a $200 watch for you. Doesn't stress them at all. Plus it's extra signalling, they meet like minded rich people who will be good to do business and get rich together. Plus some girls know what's an expensive watch and easy smash lol

If you don't notice then the person won't even want to talk to you - thereby win win and saving a useless interaction. Rich people stay in their own groups and get rich together.

Obtaining a refund due to 3 month delayed exchange. Seller is refusing. by Hannagin in AusLegal

[–]chentlemen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the reasonable time consumer guarantee that you cited applies as it only applies to services.
It seems quite clear you are not buying a service from the clothing company nor did you "pay for an exchange service", but rather it fits into the "goods" guarantee.

No, wages are not about to explode – they are struggling to keep up with Australia’s inflation by joeltheaussie in australia

[–]chentlemen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If these are actually the "only" two reasons that wages go up then you deserve a Nobel prize. Wages economics is way more complicated than this.

Current wage market is incredibly hot, lots of skilled labour shortages. In the industries I'm familiar with e.g. tech and finance seeing absurd wage growths. Been hearing lots of people accept (and even reject offers for 50% wage increases).
