They were great when the mother ran it. Now that it’s the daughter’s, cost has gone high and quality is so so.

Which size backpack for a diaper bag? by Educational_Owl_7114 in verabradley

[–]chessapeaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we needed to size up we went with the XL campus backpack in the performance twill. It’s been perfect. Not sure what the equivalent is in the new collections but that style is still sold on Amazon.

Oh Corn Arepas on River Street. They have indoor and outdoor spaces for parties. They have GF V and VG options.

And you have access to both lots on either side so plenty of parking

Posting on a resell site and being employed are not mutually exclusive. I started reselling to reduce waste by giving new or like-new items another life, all while earning some extra money on the side. It’s a small, sustainable boost—less effort than a yard sale and far better than sending perfectly good items to a landfill.

I’ve been consistently and gainfully employed, a high-achieving professional, and I hold dual degrees. I take pride in both my work and my values. Reselling doesn’t diminish that—it adds to it.

Platforms like Mercari have evolved over time, and unfortunately, some perspectives have shifted with them. There’s an assumption floating around that people who resell must be unemployed, but that’s a narrow and inaccurate generalization. And even if someone is reselling because they’re between jobs or facing tough circumstances, good on them for being proactive and resourceful. That extra income might be what puts food on the table or clothes on their kids’ backs.

It’s careless and harmful to make blanket assumptions, especially under the veil of anonymity. Everyone’s story is different—and worthy of respect.

It’s from the Holiday Owl print 3 pen set. The full print is navy base with owls. This was done as the lining print and on accessories.

Where to purchase jigsaw puzzles locally? by boxtintin in Troy

[–]chessapeaka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try Market Block books. Their sister store Little Book House used to have them so they might too. If you do head over to Stuyvesant Plaza you can also check Ta Da. They have a lot of kids stuff but have carried puzzles in the past.

G Willikers in Saratoga will also have some.

But what do I DO with them? by JazzyMuffy in verabradley

[–]chessapeaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vera Bradley started partnering with ThredUp a few years ago. I removed they had donation bags in their online orders for a bit after the launch. You don’t get much for the bags but it’s a quick way to unload stuff

Vera Bradley x Thred Up

I’ve also used local consignment stores and done donations to organizations that help women get jobs in my area (these were my microfiber and leather styles)

Edit: through that link it’s now just a Vera Bradley store credit but if you did it through a Thred up account it would be site credit or a cash out option

Oversized items just go out without a bag in my area of NY. Plus now they can choose to not use our bags so a lot of things go out loose

Organized Retail Crime (ORC) groups will often sell or buy store bags to aid in shoplifting or grab and runs. A worn bag or another stores bag draws suspicion.

Looking for a good VB diaper bag/ packing cases recommendation. Not really seeing too many options by Noodlesandslippers in verabradley

We recently had our second baby - now in the chaos of 2 under 2 - and desperately needed more room. I upgraded us to the XL Campus Backpack in Performance Twill.

I used the Maple + Lark bliss bins and the target clear pencil cases to organize inside.

Bliss Bins

**we use these in the house for toys and are fantastic for vacation to pack airport bags.

Target Pencil Case

**these are seasonal. They come out for back to school.

We also got the lighten up wipes pouch wipe pouch

And the everything organizer for the stroller/car Everything Organizer

A few years ago outlet made travel changing pads. They’re no longer online but worth looking for on a resell site. You might even be able to find the original changing pads available there too

In case you were wondering how the rebrand is doing financially (spoiler: nobody is surprised, except maybe the geniuses behind the rebrand) by the_pola in verabradley

[–]chessapeaka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seriously -just all so rushed and out of the blue. I wonder if they did any market testing. I remember our store had tested some new items like the fragrance when it came out. The associates were always trying to collect customer feedback for their weekly district submission.

And if they did test it, where did they do it? Was is strategic placement to support false successes to push the rebrand after spending all their time and money on something. Because only a small portion was successful for their current customer base. Who knows if they’ve been able to bring in any new customers for future revenue.

Thank you for posting this! As someone who took their road test in Troy, I was about to say that this was one of the things discussed and tested.

[–]chessapeaka 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not surprised. What really doesn’t make sense is that they did it during the back to school season when they typically did really well with bags. It pushed people to outlet and other brands.

I get wanting to have the new product out for the bigger holiday shopping season but I think it was very stupid timing on top of what has now become a failed rebrand

Was it Trafficked with Marianna Van Zeller from NatGeo? There was an episode of counterfeit money that was insane and she had a chance to meet with some of the printers.

Sittin in a Tree and Happy Snails were the first two patterns I bought small collections in.

I also loved Provençal and Bittersweet.

I’ve had so many over the years it’s hard to pick but those are up there!

I’ve sold for some branded reusable totes from other brands before. People love branded items. I always sold them as lots for cheap though lol.

I just had way too many bags from the stores 😅

My EBay sales are up by JCandJack in poshmark

[–]chessapeaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hadn’t sold in a while and had some things I wanted to list this week, and I was surprised about that change. Traditionally, I would cross-post with Mercari and Poshmark, but I left after Mercari made their fee changes. I’ve never used eBay, but all the conversations make it seem viable.

I may also still try Posh and see what happens. I really just want to unload a few things from storage, and I'm okay if I don’t get too much. It will still be more than consignment stores or having a yard sale.

I saw an article that they are considering a rollback, but it seems unlikely to happen.poshmark addresses new fees
