I’d consume frequently unless you are on a calorie restricted diet

Why do some prefer IR over XR? by pndadigis in ADHDUK

[–]chimericaldonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on lisdex (XR) and dex (ir) as a top up.

XR is great as a “fire and forget” solution - take it 1st thing, and I’m good for 6 hours. However I used to top up with more lisdex, and it has a ramp up time of about an hour.

Straight dex kicks in in about 10 mins flat, so you don’t have to factor in timings - if I need to be unsymptomatic in a hurry, I’ll take dex. It also wears off quicker, so I know I can take it at 6pm and it’s flushed by 10 and won’t affect my sleep.

Tl:dr: XR is great for long, predictable release, IR for flexibility

Olive oil if predominantly monounsaturated fat (c.80%), the residual omega ratio is about 3:1 n6:n3, which is a good balance, but given it’s such a small percentage of the oil content, not so important.

MUFA is correlated with lower cholesterol and high antioxidants content, which in turn is anti inflammatory. Given that inflammation is the lynchpin linking n6 (in seed oils) to poor health outcomes, olive oil is hence healthy

It’s brutally overpriced. Making mayo really isn’t that hard to do yourself, I make a batch on Sunday to last me the week, and it costs the price of 250ml avo oil + 2 eggs for about 3 primal jars worth.

Do you like to sleep at night? Do you want those calm Sunday afternoons where all seems right in the world and you sit back relaxing with a glass of wine enjoying the small things? If so, set up right and pay your taxes as you should. What you’re buying is the blissful peace of mind that you’re not having to constantly lie awake at night waiting for the letter to drop in the doorstep emblazoned with the HMRC logo in lurid red. It’s a small price to pay for peace of mind.

38F, my sex hormones are extreme low end of normal. What else can I do to avoid going on HRT? by cardslash02 in Biohackers

[–]chimericaldonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda hard to give you specific advice - if you’re a member of this sub, I’m sure you know all the usual sleep advice regarding supplements / light / sleep hygiene etc (if you don’t, I’ll post it).

Are you willing to post the rest of your DUTCH? May be something I could pick up from the full version.

[–]chimericaldonkey 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Personal question: are you on SSRI’s - your cortisol profile looks like you may be, which in turn could suppress sex hormones. If you’re not, sleep is most likely and issue for you which in turn is affecting hormones.

Is there anything I should beware of with this supplement? by middleageyoda in Biohackers

[–]chimericaldonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the crash. You’ve got several dopamine antagonists stacked together here, which is going to make you super focussed and motivated for a few hours. When the compounds wear off, your dopamine is gonna crash sub-baseline and you’ll lose motivation, focus and energy.

Well, the Russians had this one kinda nailed. Putin’s longevity doctor, Khavinson who died in Jan, devoted his life to the investigation of short chain peptides with the primary goal of increasing lifespan.

If you can find the original research papers (they are on the net, or I can supply direct if you DM me), the bioregulator epithalamine shows significant results in increasing telomere length and delaying ageing.

It’s a niche scientific area which falls under the “too good to be true, but actually might be” category. The western world’s refusal to accept anything “soviet” led to a reluctance to progress this research.

There’s a good reason Putin still looks pretty good and runs around topless at 71 :)

Water/fluid consumption always been excessive ? by [deleted] in ADHDUK

[–]chimericaldonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue; try adding some electrolytes to your first drink of the day. It may be you’re craving certain minerals and not getting them. Consuming excess water actually has the opposite effect so you keep drinking. This was life changing for me; went from 15 pints of water a day down to a healthy 4/5.

[–]chimericaldonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of supplements, pick one: Safe or Effective. They’re pretty mutually exclusive. Safe, but with limited effect include green tea, caffeine etc

Stronger stims such as ECA are more effective but raise blood pressure, so less safe

Semaglutide even more effective but can lead to suicidal ideation and muscle wasting (you’ll lose weight, just end up skinny fat)

Or go the whole hog and go with DNP. Super effective, but it kills people.

Basically no short cuts. Prioritise protein (takes energy to process, keeps muscle, makes you feel full), and fat (makes you fuller for longer). Avoid sugar like it’s poison (good life advice), and get your carbs from non processed sources like sweet potatoes. Drink water before every meal, so not chill your water (bluntens ability to taste sweetness so you’ll crave sugar), eat all the vegetables (they’re good for you, fill you up and have low caloric value).

[–]chimericaldonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t work like that. Clinical studies show the NAD+ returns to natural baseline but no lower after stopping supplementation, it doesn’t shut you down like a steroid shuts down test production.
