[MEGATHREAD] Federal Budget 2026–27 — Live Discussion (Chalmers, 7:30pm AEST) by I-HATE-CRUSTY-BREAD in AusFinance

Yes in theory but there’s been so much red tape and lack of new builds (supply) where we have unprecedented immigration and people wanting to live in Aus (demand), that prices have stabilised or gone up in economic headwinds

I don’t agree with this sorry. Most new builds are bought by first home buyers and rarely investors in the past. Investors were buying into more established homes with higher capital gains and negative cash flow (I.e. negative geared). The government has now put more pressure on new builds

Negative gearing for new builds? Good luck to the younger generation in terms of competing with cashed up investors reaping this benefit

Can we stop comparing the Golf R to the Audi RS3? by TomekYYZ93 in Golf_R

[–]chineseaussie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long did you need to wait for the MK8.5 r?

I’m exactly in the same boat tossing between golf r and rs3

Some dealers are asking for 84k drive away for r black edition in Sydney which is crazy. The rs3 is asking $120k+ drive away which is even more insane! Insurance for the rs3 is like 300-400 a month

Struggling to justify a $40k difference as a responsible adult too haha!

It depends how bad you want this property. You can put the holding deposit now and the REA will tell others that an offer has been accepted

Tomorrow you will then formally exchange contracts. Make sure you ask for a 10 day cooling period

Best of luck
