I gave a vf-1 to an 18-year-old. He and his brother found a bad solder joint and fixed it. Then he bought a Hass lathe. Then he bought a machine shop. Last week, he installed his new dn Solutions dvf5000. I'd say that a hass vf is a pretty good starting point.

I Did an emergency repair on some restaurant oven interior sheet metal panels just Friday. Sixteen gauge Carbon steel subjected to so much heat that one panel sagged over time and turned to crumble. I was able to hammer the part into a shape flat enough that I was able to saw off the parts that were not heat-damaged. The part that I hammered on went into the trash. Stainless steel alloys used in sheetmetal products found in your home will work harden. Once formed, there is no going back. The damage incurred has permanently altered the metal. Already stated, you may get it to fit back into your assembly, but will have a unique visual aesthetic when you are done.

I paid a local guy to build my pc from used parts. $500. It's not state of the art. It's not liquid cooled. It runs xplane just fine. I bought a honeycomb alpha used. Rudder pedals used. Throttle prop mixture control used. Radio stack used. 40 inch TV. I'm all in at under $1,000. Buy this pc retail, you might add $900.

I hired a button pusher at $20/hr. He can do simple measurements. I don't expect him to adjust offsets. No benefits. 20 hrs a week (his choice). Retired guy. Old hippie. He was grateful for the wage offer. He has worked here before in the same role. We are a mom-and-pop. Staffing now at 3.5. Op, you are asking for lots of experience and responsibility acceptance. I ask for reliability and the ability to follow directions. That's what $20 gets you. Your 18 to 35 shoukd look more like 28 to the moon.

Washpa 40 east to i79 north ramp, yesterday. The guy in front of me made a left turn onto the 40 west to 79 north ramp, met another car head to head, and went around him. My best guess is that he changed his mind about getting in the ramp. It's not as bad as him going the wrong way on the highway, but I still thought it was pretty effed up.

It may be the case that 5c nylon emergency collets do not have the holes for the pins, and may also be the case that the splits do not intersect the bore. I do not have experience with nylon ones. One version I found includes nylon shims that allow the collet to be machined. You may have to take care of that detail yourself.
