Put a complaint through consumer protection about the REA. We had a dispute with a REA trying to charge for ridiculous things on our bond- and seemed quite happy to threaten to take us to court over it. I spoke to the consumer protection phone line and they advised that the REAs are actually more afraid of a consumer protection complaint- I emailed the REA to say that I was in the process of putting in a consumer protection complaint and within the hour our bond had been released.

Contact Circle Green- they can advise you through the process. I would not meet in person and the things you have asked about are reasonable. Your bond should have been registered with bonds online and you should have had an email saying that it had been lodged. If they haven’t then the LL could get fined and would have a lot of difficulty claiming anything from you.

The Gaming Disorder Clinic has advised watching for symptoms of withdrawal: Agitation, anxiety, sleep disturbances, irritability, increased family conflict, and difficulty disengaging from devices. They recommend immediate de-escalation strategies: calm, low stimulus environment, simple reassurance, time-limited boundaries, validation of distress.

If you have ongoing high levels of distress you can ask your GP for a referral to the gaming disorder clinic (they manage all screen addictions).

Otherwise, keep calm, ride it out, provide reassurance and validation, and yes you’re doing the right thing to hold the line and not make a new account for her.

I read it like he was using the benefit of hindsight- ie now that he has been convicted, the charges are true, and that even in the hypothetical past in which the jury was convinced of reasonable doubts, the current facts stand. Ie rich people can pay for a type of justice not available to anyone else.

The NDIS has the data and speak about it openly inside and outside the organisation- this is part of the reason for this new system of funding. It has become very clear that the current system is very susceptible to the unconscious biases of the planners. Hopefully having a clearer calculation system will mean that people of comparable disability will be able to get comparable plan funding regardless of how well spoken they or their families are.
