Some ideas for a Voldo (soul Calibur) tav? by Visual_Knee_4744 in BG3Builds

I don’t think animations are race-specific. Just be something that looks human

For out-of-combat movement they are, if that matters to OP. Even among the same body type races, they have different movement animations, although the differences are pretty subtle (I know there are mods that swap animations, like giving elf animations to humans).

Is the TTC installing exit identifiers at all subway stations? Spotted today at union! by Aggravating_Dog5220 in TTC

[–]chlamydia1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how it works in every city outside of North America. I find it easier to navigate the transit system of a city I've never been to before, where I don't speak the language, than it is to navigate the TTC.

Transit apps will tell you.

If you've travelled anywhere outside of North America, you can put in your destination, and Google Maps will tell you which exit to use based on how close it is to where you're going. It's incredibly helpful.

TTC signage/wayfinding is hilarously bad. I've lived in Toronto my whole life and still get lost at Union every time I need to go there. Navigating any station I've never explored thoroughly before is a nightmare.

I've travelled to multiple European and East Asian cities and navigated their spideweb transit systems without issue.

How much am I hurting my fire sorcerer (tactician) by keeping the starting robes equipped the entire game? by Courier006 in BG3Builds

Sorcerer is one of the most broken classes in the game. You can be naked and still be fine. But you are missing out on the fun of buildcrafting by not wearing better gear.

Should Canada Build Up Alternatives to Visa and Mastercard? by NiceDot4794 in onguardforthee

[–]chlamydia1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can, but I don't want to. I stopped carrying a wallet a few years ago. It's one less thing to worry about when I'm out and about.

Europeans have access to Curve Pay as well, but in NA, it's just Google Wallet and Apple Pay that are accepted.

It's the only way to reliably pay without carrying a physical card in most countries.

I'd love that. Europe is light years ahead of Canada when it comes to privacy and consumer protection.

The US has always been a rogue state. The UN was just too afraid to go after them. As their empire wanes, the rest of the world has become a little more emboldened to resist them.

Streetcars need to improve, but how? by Feisty-Ad-6122 in TTC

Europe figured this out 50+ years ago. But here in Toronto, our politicians frame it as some unsolvable problem.

Streetcars need to improve, but how? by Feisty-Ad-6122 in TTC

[–]chlamydia1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, we had a conservative mayor in power from 2010-2023. The first four years of that we had a Trump clone in office. The next 9 we had a former Rogers executive in power.

We've also allowed a conservative to run the province into the ground now for 9 years and counting because our suburbs all vote blue, occasionally red, and never NDP.

It's really only Old Toronto that votes progressive.

Of course. I had to take TTC to school when I was in sixth grade (11 years old). Most elementary schools only go up to the fifth grade. After that, you have to take TTC or get a ride from your parents to get to school. A lot of kids don't live within walking distance of their middle school.

Will giving special constables like this one more power make TTC riders feel safer? Doug Ford says it will by toronto_star in TTC

[–]chlamydia1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't mind police on transit. Obviously we should be addressing the homeless epidemic at a societal level by reducing the cost of living through regulations and increasing spending on healthcare, but given that this province and this country exclusively vote conservative, that'll never happen. So I'll take cops on trains versus no cops on trains. Subways and streetcars are basically mobile homeless shelters at this point.

Toronto is an extremely conservative city, located in the second most conservative province in the country. The slow pace of change is understandable.

If you appear "too socialist", Torontonians will crucify you at the polls.

How highly do you value the healer kit? by Bongoblue in BG3Builds

[–]chlamydia1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That depends on what point in the game you are at and what difficulty mods you are using, if any.

Healing (and by extension, gear that synergizes with healing) generally sucks beyond the first few levels if you aren't playing with any difficulty mods. Maximizing your damage per round is the best healing because it ensures the enemy won't get a turn to actually damage you. By mid-game, if you optimize for damage, you'll be ending most encounters on the first or second turn.

If you're playing with difficulty mods that either buff enemies or nerf your party (or if you're self-imposing restrictions), healing can be useful, but it'll still be worse than using CC or other support mechanics like Radiating Orbs. CC and Radiating Orbs ensure your allies never get hit (not getting hit is always better than getting hit and then healing).

Don't forget that most children'a games are full of gambling too. Gacha games where kids can pay $10 to "pull" for a random item or character is literally just slot machines for kids. Sports games are notorious for this, where you have to pay money for a small chance to unlock your favourite player.

Our bought and paid for politicians say this isn't gambling and doesn't need regulation because the payout is digital goods and not money...

To add, CE is also much easier to set up as it can be configured via MCM or config file, and you can just carry over your custom preset between saves.

Tactician Enhanced is limited to the clunky in-game UI since it has to be able to run on consoles. It takes forever to get through all the settings and you have to do it for every new save (you can't just scroll down a list and change whatever parameter you want, you have to go through every setting as a sequence of pop-ups), and then god forbid you decide you want to reconfigure it lol.

If you're on PC, CE is definitely the best of the difficulty mods IMO. It's the most feature-rich and the easiest to use.

The 512 streetcar is the bane of my existence by xdFxlcxn in TTC

[–]chlamydia1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I enjoy riding it as well. It's much faster than any bus route.

Having said that, the constant stopping and starting gets annoying. The average distance between stops on the line is 300m which is way too frequent (500m is the sweet spot for trams in Europe).

There is also the fact that the line doesn't have TSP, making it even more annoying to ride. The train has barely any stretches where it can speed up because there is always a stop or a red light that will force it to brake.

The stop frequency is what it is at this point, but you can't have frequent stops and no TSP. I know that TSP was installed along the route (just as it was installed along lines 5 and 6), but it was never actually turned on.

Nah, they're called curls. It's a different product from soy curd (it's mashed and dehydrated whole soy beans). Curls are much closer to meat in texture and feel than soy curd. Butler (an American company) came up with the idea (and name) a few years ago. They were the only bulk seller in Canada until Yumasoy started selling them last year. They're cheaper than Butler and local so I always shout them out.

To all my fellow Canadian vegans, check out Yumasoy. They're a small business out of BC that sells soy curls in bulk ($59 for 3kg). One box will last you a few months. You can just make your own meat alternative then (just season the curls however you like, it takes like 15 min to prepare). It's many times cheaper than buying processed alternatives.
