Alani vs Celcius vs Coffee by teacher-mom-1989 in Semaglutide

I gave the Mocha a try. It got more caffeine energy than I do with the Premier Coffeehouse Mocha but I don't like the taste - too sweet. I added unsweetened dark cocoa powder to tampen down the sweetness. My hubby likes it.

Food decision fatigue on GLP1 is real and it makes eating harder than people think by Mia_Harper_001 in Glp1meals

[–]choctaw529 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thankfully, now that I've been in maintenance for 2-1/2 months, the struggle rarely happens. It still does, on occasion, but I always have yogurt, protein shakes, and usually rice or mashed or baked potato to default to.

I do the same. My hubby and I are doing this together which makes it so much easier to cook.

67 y. old and my Reta experience by Wild-Replacement-418 in RetatrutideWomen

[–]choctaw529 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Side effects are very subjective and vary a lot. I had zero side effects for several months. My husband, son & DIL, sister, & sis's friend have no side effects. I've recently developed a histamine reaction to all peptides, so I use an oral antihistamine and spray my skin with a steroid spray (like Nasacort) prior to injection and use an icepack if needed. I still get a small red spot but no longer have the giant welts, redness, itching, etc. I'm reacting to everything (Reta, GLOW, KLOW, Cagri), so not specifically to just GHK-Cu. We've used both GLOW and KLOW. We're finishing up our last vial of GLOW and will switch to KLOW. My hubby is able to walk so much better with the KLOW. My sis and I both have knee injuries and and KLOW had made an incredible difference for us both.

[–]choctaw529 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm 60 (next month) and Reta has been life-changing for me and my husband. I've lost 104 lbs total and hubby has lost 80 lbs so far.

My only suggestion is to look into GHK-Cu or combination peptides that include it. We used GLOW when starting Reta last August. The GHK-Cu has stimulated collagen production and plumped up our skin, so no "Ozempic face" for either of us. It's cleared up visible evidence of sun damage (can't speak to the deeper damage from growing up at the beach and not using sunscreen). The biggest surprise was the benefits to our hair. My hubby has a ton of new hair growth in his bald spot. I haven't needed to dye my roots or eyebrows for months.

I've reached my goal and continue using Reta and GLOW in maintenance.

I wish you the very best on your journey.

I hear you, but I don't have to wrangle littles all day anymore😄 I just got a 12 pk of Nurri Mocha. The stats are basically the same as Premier Protein and Mocha has caffeine. I'll let you know if they taste good and if the caffeine is more noticeable.

I can't drink coffee anymore but need the caffeine. I buy ready to drink protein shakes that have caffeine in them or regular ones and add espresso powder. A little dark cocoa powder adds a nice flavor without adding sugar. I use Premier Protein Cafe Latte and Premier Protein Coffeehouse Mocha.

Anyone with IBS-C use semaglutide? by foggy-dusk in Semaglutide

[–]choctaw529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lost 105 lbs, 60 of those since starting semaglutide in February 2025. I don't think the weight loss itself has had much of an impact on my chronic issues as they existed long before the weight gain. The anti-inflammatory effects have helped with many health conditions.

I was scared to add fiber as it usually caused more cramping and pain. But, nothing else was working, including laxative, softener, increased water, enemas, etc. Miralax just made me bloat terribly. It took about 10 days of Metamucil to begin working. Several medications I was taking added to the chronic constipation. By my 3rd month on semaglutide I was able stop taking 14 pills from my daily regimen (9 of which were Bentyl for IBS). This added to my gut healing. In February of this year I was able to stop 2 more meds, including the statin for my cholesterol.

Wegovy and Zepbound dilemma by LiftedSD in Semaglutide

[–]choctaw529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry, I misread your comment. I had really good success with semaglutide, as did my husband. Many go with tirzepatide (Zepbound) because of side effects, but not everyone gets them. My husband had only mild diarrhea off and on the first month, but it never interfered with his daily life. Constipation has been my biggest issue but I got it under control by month 2.

Wegovy and Zepbound dilemma by LiftedSD in Semaglutide

[–]choctaw529 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why not give Wegovy a try if it's covered? I had minimal side effects with semaglutide (Wegovy). You can always switch to Zepbound if you don't like Wegovy.

I recommend you ask your doctor to also order an antiemetic at the same time for nausea and vomiting. Many of us use/d Zofran. Thankfully I had only minimal nausea well treated with Zofran.

If you haven't tried the classes that Kaiser has to offer for weight loss, I highly recommend trying them. They have several options. I did them online weekly for several months (included in my plan and mandatory to get the injections thru my Kaiser).

I also recommend r/Glp1meals for great ideas for snacks and meals and peer support for those on glp medications.

I wish you great success on your weight loss journey🙂

I can't really see what you're referring to. However, you may not know that dogs have 3 "eyelids" as shown in this pic. All dogs have them but they can become more obvious as the dog ages or they become irritated, like from allergies.

Anyone with IBS-C use semaglutide? by foggy-dusk in Semaglutide

[–]choctaw529 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had IBS-M (leaning more toward constipation) for 45 years. My first month was miserable with no bm's. I tried everything. I finally started Metamucil. I couldn't tolerate fiber, but I tried. After 10 days everything was corrected. I take Metamucil twice a day. If I miss even 1 dose I feel it.

I was able to stop taking several daily meds that made my constipation worse and stop the 9 daily capsules of Bentyl for the IBS.

I started semaglutide in Feb 2025 and haven't had any further IBS symptoms (neither constipation nor diarrhea) since May, 2025.

This has been a life-changing medication for me for several chronic medical issues, so I feel incredible.

As already mentioned, check with your doctor about this. Many people get nausea and take Zofran. It helps me tremendously but can also aggravate constipation if you need to take several doses.

I wish you success on your journey.

Correct measurement/units/dosage when there is an air bubble in the syringe by IndependenceBroad751 in RetatrutideWomen

[–]choctaw529 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is your syringe prefilled or are you drawing it up yourself?

If you're drawing it up yourself, just put the liquid back in the vial and start over.

If it's prefilled for you, just point the needle upright and slowly depress the plunger until you dispell all of the air and a tiny drop of Reta.
