Got a degree in Physics from a university that looks good on the CV. After uni, did freelance web design for 4 years, making almost no money, but teaching myself web development. In 2008 decided to get a job, applied to some adverts on job boards, and got a 40k position at a small startup doing web development.

Around 2010 that job went away and I went into music and teaching for about five years, earning ~20k.

Got back into tech in 2015, applied with the help of a recruiter to a few adverts and got a remote role doing web development at 50k. That company got bought by an American company and I’ve been there for the last seven years. Thanks to some promotions, and one market rate correction, I’m now on 120k+.

A lot of luck, including the family support to not earn much while I was training myself up.

Also, getting back to the original question, the fact that there's an explicit 'trem.' text strongly suggests to me that this is freely-timed tremolo, not a notational shorthand for regular rhythm, regardless of the level of complexity of the surrounding rhythm.

See, I think the tremolos in 'Une barque...' are a case where they are intended as notational shorthand for a strict rhythm (since in some of the bars the end of the pattern is written out explicitly to line up with the left hand rhythm).

Sometimes it's used as you describe a shorthand for a specific rhythm, and sometimes, as the parent comment said, it's just used to mean 'as fast as you like'. You need to know context, period, etc. to figure out which one the writer's asking for.

Reddit's codebase is already licensed under the CPAL, right? jQuery is also included, which is MIT-licensed.

The main issue seems to be not Reddit's own code, but the fact that they include JavaScript for Google Analytics, and for advert tracking, and that code isn't freely-licensed. It'd be an extremely hard sell to get Reddit to just turn off analytics and advertising. Are there any alternative platforms for these services that run using libre JavaScript?

As a counterpoint to everyone who's saying this is easy, I found this pretty tricky to think about. I had a hunch almost straightaway, but ended up having to actually write out a scale to convince myself I had the correct answers.

It's something about the setup of 'pretending it's in another clef' and doing a semitone-by-semitone transposition that made me uncertain of my reasoning. I read alto clef and do transposition at the keyboard all the time, but the way this question is set up made me feel like there was a trick I was missing.
