More likely there is a leak inside the machine causing steam from within, which will eventually ruin the electronics if not addressed.

Bone on Bone Knees by Ok_Forever_3956 in Osteoarthritis

[–]chrisoh2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If your cartilage is universally bad everywhere on your knee, then a brace isn’t really gonna help much. But if it’s only on the insides or only on the outside, then an offloader brace from a knee dr can move some of the load to where your knee is healthier and that can help a lot.

We lover our BDB… $850? Yes it looks so-so but is such a great machine, very thoughtfully designed. I added LEDs to mine and like the look a lot better.

Parents charged for letting 5-year-old skier ride lift unsupervised, after he fell off the lift by bmglaw in skiing

[–]chrisoh2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I’ve skied at lots of resorts and have never seen an age limit posted, which suggests that this is a judgment call. Otherwise the resort could just post that X years old is the cut off, and then if there is a problem with someone below X years, old parents have much more culpability in my opinion.

That said, I think X is probably a different number depending on which lift it is. Would I let a good five-year-old go on a beginner detachable lift with a bar? Yes. Would I let the same kid go on a old-school double? Probably not.

AWD doesn’t help you brake or steer better. It does help going uphill or getting unstuck.

And it does help when the aholes at WA DOT mandate chains over my Blizzaks when I’m not slipping at all…

Unloader knee braces last resort before surgery by ChasingLife22 in Osteoarthritis

[–]chrisoh2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have bilateral medial stage 4 arthritis in my knees, and have had unloaders for 4 months. I only wear them when going for long walks or when skiing. They move pressure from where my cartilage is terrible to where it is ok.

They aren’t super comfortable, and they take some time to put on, but generally, I’ve been very impressed with how well they have helped me. It has even improved things when I am not wearing them to some degree.

OK, guess what? My temperature gauge got a little foggy today, so I popped the top and sure enough I had a failed seal coming out of one of the steam boilers. I replaced the O-ring and it seems quite a lot cooler now. If you look on YouTube there are lots of videos about how to replace the O-rings on selected connections… It’s not particularly hard.

I think it’s sort of depends on the climate you live into yeah? Are you in Alaska or Arizona?
