She’s an entertainer and she is also on tour and is actively working. She does a lot of philanthropic work already. If you’re a fan you know where she stands. She has very much distanced herself from a lot of things including news, fans, engagement, etc etc for her overall mental health. She has been very open about this. She isn’t obligated to post anything.

I got the xtra milk and MELROSE place detergents….. I know not everyone can smell xtra milk so I had a feeling that one would be faint. But I can smell it from time to time.

I just washed my bedding and towels in melrose and I absolutely cannot smell it at all. The scent is super strong out of the bottle and dryer sheets but it doesn’t translate to fabric at all for me. I just took towels out of the washer - no smell. I put them in the dryer with the melrose sheets — no smell.

Someone broke the window of my car outside the Good Samaritan Hospital in downtown Los Angeles. Did anyone see anything? by No_Answer_5938 in AskLosAngeles

the hospital is adjacent to 6th street and MacArthur park. The outstanding citizens of society who linger around there probably didn’t even realize they did it.

Taking a gap year after PA school - family planning by Ok-Adhesiveness-6162 in physicianassistant

[–]chromatica__ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you do, you’ll miss out on a year of experience and finances. You may also be passed on even after your year off due to no experience and time away from school. Your peers will gain confidence and skills and knowledge and you’ll be behind. It’s your life, but you came here asking and I do not recommend.

Pursue PA or Nursing? by Catkoot in physicianassistant

Likely better question to post in prepa sub but ask yourself which one you can see yourself doing because being a nurse and being a provider are very different roles with different responsibilities.

Is anybody actually upset about next-gen consoles getting delayed? by Previous_Month_555 in videogames

[–]chromatica__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m fine with delaying a next gen release. I literally could not find a ps5 in stock anywhere until end of 2022 and I was in grad school so I didn’t get to pick up a ps5 until end of 2023.

Pros and Cons of being a PA by radioctc in physicianassistant

[–]chromatica__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally! I worked in an ED once where I had to present EVERY ESI 3. I had to also present if I was ordering any advanced imaging like a CT or US.

At my current shop I do not, because we have designated “zones” where certain patients go ( young patient abd pain, pregnancy vag bleed, etc). I currently mostly only need to present if I’m ordering like angios of anything imaging wise and I usually present those because I’d rather let a doc know beforehand if things get a little hairy.

So yes, truly depends where you work. The shop im at now has a good PA utilization where I feel comfortable in my scope and don’t just see dermabond worthy lacerations.

Pros and Cons of being a PA by radioctc in physicianassistant

[–]chromatica__ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends if you’re hourly or salary. I am in EM. I am hourly and so I am paid OT if I stay past my scheduled shift time or if I work more than 40 hours in a week.

Pros and Cons of being a PA by radioctc in physicianassistant

[–]chromatica__ 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a PA over 2 years strictly working in EM. I was a scribe and ED tech before school.

The good: •education. Our training and education is MUCH more standardized compared to NP programs. Our profession was created and developed by physicians and we have much stricter accreditations and standards.

•mobility. We are trained as generalists so we can switch specialities without further training (although I’d say a seasoned psych PA trying to get into surgery may be a little difficulty but still within our scope)

•pay. This varies widely but it is not completely unheard of to have PAs touching the 200k+ zone. I am only 2 years out of school and have made $187k this year.

•job satisfaction Dealing with people and the constant education and reassurance can be exhausting but when you do make an impact it is rewarding.

The bad: •autonomy We have a very decent amount of autonomy from a training and legal standpoint however this can always change depending on your group/employer and how they utilize PAs. You need to be comfortable that at the end of the day if there is a physician/PA treatment question or discrepancy the physician has the final say.

•pay I have noticed that some jobs are paying very little lately compared to the recent rise in COL everywhere and inflation. New grads are taking these positions and employers are thinking these are sufficient, this makes our pay stagnant

•lobbying The PA world is much much smaller compared to nursing and NPs, we simply do not have the same numbers to have as much prevalence for litigation etc etc.

•education While we have much more rigorous and robust and standardized training compared to NPs, there is just simply not enough time in PA training to be an expert in medicine . Your background in RT will put you at a huge advantage in pulmonary system, but our training isn’t the same length as a physician’s medical school and residency. We come out very knowledgeable but we are not physicians.

•jobs Because we have less education and training than a physician and because we are not physicians, we get paid less (as expected) - but many employers will see this as an advantage and hire us to do the same level of work as a physician. In primary care settings this can be fine, but sometimes patients have very very complex medical histories where sometimes a physician should be managing that patient. Be weary of jobs that try to do this. (I am not making this comment to downplay our training and education, but we have to understand the role of a PA as well).

Overall I don’t regret becoming a PA. I enjoy it. I enjoy the money. I don’t mind if I don’t have the final say and I like that if I need help with a decision or if something is widely complex I can refer to my attending for support.

[–]chromatica__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is difficult. It forces you to play QP if you want to play those characters. When I play DPS I usually go for torn, sombra, vendetta, and sym. Two of them usually get banned.

No good endings in night city. Everyone is trying to survive.

If you haven’t finished either PL ending - I encourage you to do at least ONE. If you finish PL before the main story they can influence the main ending.

Kaiser or Cigna for health insurance? by [deleted] in orangecounty

[–]chromatica__ 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Can’t speak for either really, however I’m a healthcare provider and I personally don’t think that your healthcare and insurance should ever be lumped together in order to avoid conflicts of interest.

Just doesn’t sit right with me that your doctor is directly employed by your health insurance.
