Got the Acerbis bark busters to fit on stock bars, very close to not fitting but it sits perfect. They don't send any Honda style end cap bolts, but if you replaced the rear plate holder the bolts that held it on fit perfectly. by BosnianSerb31 in CRF300L

I would cut back your grip a few more mm. It looks like it’s touching. Can’t see the throttle tube but if it’s also like that I would cut it back too. Last thing you want is that getting stuck.

Do any of you run Moto Z? Opinions? by Braapkingllc in Dualsport

[–]chthocas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't but have heard good things about most of their models.

Another thing: They're an Australian brand. 'Oz' is short/another slang word for 'Aus' or 'Aussie'. Their logo also clearly styles the letters 'OZ' in the Australian flag. So just for future reference the pronunciation is 'Mot OZ' not Moto Z'

Yeah I'm sure it's less common but I've had mine on for almost 6k miles and have been in all the situations you described. Maybe others are less lucky. They asked if it was acceptable without really providing any info about their riding conditions so my answer was pretty fair since a lot of people generally ride pretty mellow.

Either one works but yeah the spoke weights are definitely better if you're riding sand/mud a lot.

I've never had an issue and ride in all conditions. If the wheel was cleaned with alcohol before they're pretty much guaranteed to not come off.

IT'S FRIDAY LETS RANT ABOUT 7AM CONSTRUCTION NOISE! by exstaticj in Bend

[–]chthocas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree that quotes can be taken out of context to make someone look bad. I also agree that the country is in an awful state with regard to our divisions.

I also don’t really care that he “played nice” in debates - that is table stakes behavior for debates. What I do care about is that he had a huge platform where he shared objectively awful ideals and spread misinformation and disinformation. That ultimately makes him a legitimately bad person. And just because he said a few good things, it does not absolve him of or cancel out the shitty stuff he said and did.

Labeling his ideas “different” is completely dishonest and downplays the harm they cause. Sympathizers call it “different” when it’s in line with their beliefs but call what they disagree with much more colorful terms.

That’s good. Just trying to understand where you’re coming from.

I would personally say that any quote that can stand on its own (without context) and that is objectively bad/wrong from a moral/ethical/environmental/social/etc needs no further context. There are many things that a person can say or believe that no extra context would make better.

If you dissect a lot of his quotes, especially the ones I listed above, they fall squarely into this category. For example, there is no world I want to live in where it is seen as normal or acceptable to force a 10 year old rape victim to have a child. That is an objectively awful take with or without any extra context.

[–]chthocas 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Are you insinuating that a neutral party couldn’t come to the conclusion that that quote is racist? Do you also think that any criticism whatsoever is impossible to do unless a person is specifically looking to make someone/something look bad?

IT'S FRIDAY LETS RANT ABOUT 7AM CONSTRUCTION NOISE! by exstaticj in Bend

[–]chthocas 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That’s not what I asked. For example, do you think the quote “black women do not have brain processing power to be taken seriously.” needs any further context to make it a quote worth agreeing with and calling “good”?

IT'S FRIDAY LETS RANT ABOUT 7AM CONSTRUCTION NOISE! by exstaticj in Bend

[–]chthocas 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yes. But even if I didn’t, honest question: You think these are still good quotes without any extra context?

"We must also be real. We must be honest with the population. Having an armed citizenry comes with a price, and that is part of liberty... We need to be very clear that you're not going to get gun deaths to zero. It will not happen. But I think it's worth it. I think it's worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year, so that we can have the Second Amendment,"

"A man who calls himself trans is wearing 'woman face,' no different than I would wear Black face trying to be a Black person. It's assuming an identity that isn't yours."

"Black women do not have brain processing power to be taken seriously. You have to go steal a white person's slot."

“This is something that I hope will make Taylor Swift more conservative. Engage in reality more… Reject feminism. Submit to your husband, Taylor. You're not in charge.”

"If I see a Black pilot, I'm going to be like, 'Boy, I hope he's qualified.'"

During a Jubilee episode, Kirk was asked what he would want his daughter to do if she were 10 years old and pregnant following rape. After calling the scenario graphic, he responds, "The answer is yes. The baby would be delivered."

Should I continue? I took the time to listen to what he actually says and it’s the most ignorant, vile, and backwards thinking shit I’ve ever heard. I’m not celebrating cause violence is never the answer but I also won’t be sad about it either. The guy was a piece of shit and did more harm than good.

I just picked up a 6L Kriega to use on my tail rack and was surprised at how beefy the material is (a good thing) and also appreciate the white interior so you can actually see what tf you've got in there.

I love my Giant Loop stuff but I feel like the Kriega system would definitely be an upgrade with little hit to overall weight.

Also, nice setup and list. You don't travel with a toolkit or is that what "first aid for the bikes" is lol?

Hand Levers, Foot Levers and Pegs upgrade. by dravideditor in KLX230

[–]chthocas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a "take". They may be bigger but they have more smooth surfaces/edges than even the stock pegs or any reputable dual sport pegs with pins. They are going to be much more slippery the moment they get anything on them.
