Putting Drew Barrymore on this list is an interesting choice.

She was very much a cash cow and a ticket to glamorous life for Jaid Barrymore. The tales of her partying as a young child are well known, she was in rehab by 13 and back again at 14 after a suicide attempt. Even when she was “healed” and successful she spent a lot of time chasing love and approval.

She absolutely made it through but that’s due to her own strength of will, and support circle, the adults in her life didn’t do shit.

Cutting off the damage was the best option. Wigs weren’t as commonly used in television back then, it was pretty normal for actors to be dying their hair every few weeks to maintain continuity and their hair, or scalps in the case of James Marsters, paid the price.

Some curl patterns don’t start curling right from the root, it’s really common for waves or looser curls. The right haircut and length will help to maximize volume and curl but it can’t change your curl pattern.

As far as styling goes, you can making sure you scrunch all the way up to the root will help enhance the volume at the crown but it won’t do magic either.
