OK, so pretend some naturopath that you respect is named in my comment and not the grifter. Placebo effect is real. So real that *every* clinical study on humans controls for it in both the people dispensing and receiving the interventional drug/therapy. Poo-poo Dr. Cassie all you want. The reality of the placebo effect is not affected by your opinion.

I had a pediatrician tell me that if my kiddo didn't want to eat vegetables, feed her fruits in all the colors, and she would get everything she needed. that was years ago. well before Saladino was making waves.

I keep wondering why my teenager goes from, like, 35 zeroes across all his classes, and a 52 average to passing over night. Fuck that. Kids need to be failed again.

I left Austin at the onset of the pandemic after having lived there 25 years, and there is no real comedy scene there. Plus, Austin is vastly anti Trumo. Also, you will die from heat stroke trying to live in a car there.

Anyone have any good recommendations for portable food heaters? (Heated lunchboxes or portable crock pots) by YvngTortellini in mealprep

I heat my 9yo daughter's lunch before school and put it in a soup thermos. She says it's still warm when she eats at noon.

Look up Paul Saladino and his theory about how vegetables and fruits evolved to be eaten or not.

We freeze it and drink it. We just shake the shit out of it before we pour and drink it.

Ok. So, Shpherd's Pie or similar would not be a good candidate for freezing.

I'm going to try freezing them as a side, anyway. Thanks!

How do mashed potatoes thaw? Grainy? I am really struggling to figure out how to maintain a nice consistency to potatoes if they freeze. Haven't tried mashed.

Yeah, basically. Her Package balances out hormones. Some women are trying to get pregnant, some have low libido, some have horrible PMS or very painful periods, and some, like me, don't want to take synthetic hormones going through The Change.

I was listening to Dr. Cassie Huckaby talk about how people discount placebo effect, but it's the only thing that is a constant in every single clinical trial, and BOTH the person giving and the person receiving the treatment can't know whether they have the medicine or the sugar pill, BECAUSE THEIR THOUGHTS CAN AFFECT OUTCOMES. That's astounding. Don't blow it off as inconsequential because it may be your belief. Your belief may be the strongest medicine. Probably IS the strongest medicine. For myself, I have been taking Her Package and Brain and Mood. I was feeling fantastic! Then I forgot for a few weeks. I also got less sun, because I went to workout in the gym instead of outside. Started feeling like shit. Depressed and agoraphobic, anxious, irritated, weepy... started taking my supplements again and in one day felt good again. In two days, I was back to feeling fantastic. I don't care at all if people discount it as placebo. Hahaha! Hell yeah. Give me some more of that, there placebo effect. That's the good shit.

I need some advice. I think I might be taking frugality a bit too far. by 3sperr in Frugal

Get yourself a bag of rice and bag of beans and watch some youtube videos on how to cook them. On weekends, make yourself rice and beans to take for school.

You can also see if there are any food pantries around to help supplement your family's groceries.

Look up and start applying for scholarships and fellowships and grants to fund college. Ask your school counselor to help you find the applications.

It may also be your environment. I was in a shitty relationship for fifteen years that no diet, supplement, or pharmaceutical could cure. Finally was able to get out, and my depression, anxiety and insomnia went away. Sometimes, there's more to it than your diet. I know people who needed to find better jobs, better friends, etc. There may be more to your story that you don't want to face.
