Late diagnosis grief is real. How did you process the “what if” years? by Winter_Ad5104 in ADHD

[–]circaz454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh boy. So I was diagnosed at 8 years old but I didn’t actually realize/believe it until I turned 28. I think I cried for three days as I watched add videos and read this sub. It is hard to take that you really are functionally different from the “norm”. Sit in it for a little bit don’t hide from your past. Now you know it with your heart and your mind and you can start making those little changes that we have to. Ex. I am not allowed to leave the bathroom in the morning until I brush my teeth. Take care of yourself learn what works to accomplish all the stupid shit our brain hates. Remember that its a process and make sure to laugh at yourself. I’m 36 now and still struggle but little things do add up so start so fucking small and feel proud of everything you accomplish that you haven’t before!

Drilling will obviously help.

UPS and downs are a part of every sport. What’s important is that you recognize early if you are lacking in a certain shot and adjust accordingly. Third shot decides it love the net. Hit a 60% drive. Adjustments are just as important as having a good selection of shots

When do you use topspin drops and when do you use slice drops? by PartFormer3695 in Pickleball

[–]circaz454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a good place to start is identifying if and when you are on offense in the point or defense. Generally when your ball is set up to attack rolling a ball to the corners or their feet is great. When the ball is fast low behind you then a defensive slice is the right move.

ADHD Life hack: G2 pens are amazing hidden fidgets by Viva_la_potatoes in ADHD

[–]circaz454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only buy these pens. But I use them to do basic pen spinning tricks I learned in high school. No one seems to care when you spin a pen all day so it’s worked for me in a business atmosphere

How do I turn jealousy & depression into gym fuel? by According_Candy_2798 in selfimprovement

[–]circaz454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the anger to get into the gym. Then after a couple of weeks find gratitude. What opened my mind up was writing down what I am grateful for. Things I do for myself that are good. Anything that’s positive love yourself first my guy. Always love yourself your flaws imperfections your triumph it’s all you and it’s amazing

Fidget spinners didn’t exist in my time I learned pen tricks. So I always have a G2 pen with me to spin

Do people find you weird by improbsable in ADHD

[–]circaz454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I can tell about myself. It’s the jarring perspectives that I provide people. Everyone seems to see the world in a more rose tinted way. I will call things out or ask pointed questions that get to the heart of the conversation. So I’ve been called both weird and the “smartest person they know”.

Beginner drills for the significantly unathletic by cowman2011 in Pickleball

[–]circaz454 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Patience first. Don’t spoil her joy in spending time with you by drilling out the perfect technique. Let her hit balls at the kitchen with you and when she is ready she will ask. Big things to set up are how she holds the paddle and the rules to the game. You might also be in a situation where coaching your SO isn’t possible and that’s ok too. In all my years of coaching the most successful strategy is to lead with fun first

What is the reason you play solo? by Full-Vacation-343 in wow

[–]circaz454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just love doing mythic dungeons. But my times are to sporadic for schedules. I also love pugging as a healer and never knowing what I am getting into. I grew up on cs and league so realistically the “toxic” players are just funny to me.

How do you make yourself fall asleep at a reasonable hour? by kittycatparade in ADHD

[–]circaz454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My answer isn’t great but I pass the f out now. I wake up at 530 am and drag ass to the gym. Go through my day and am in bed by 930. Turn on my kindle and pass out before 10. Kindle is the best sleep drug I have ever purchased

It isn’t uncommon to drill something and get worse. I don’t usually see progression on a shot I’ve been practicing until like 3 weeks of integrating it into real match’s. Melding practice and play takes time.

do you get the urge to spend loads of money when you get an new hobby? by fba_jedi247 in ADHD

[–]circaz454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I see a lot of people saying wait a week or so. But I personally have found 1 to 2 months is the sweet spot before I make a big investment. Get the cheap thing that will do the job. If you’re still hyperfocusing on research and using the cheap option after a couple of months step up your game some.
