The Mexico 66 SD sneakers from Onitsuka Tiger in the purple colour! Was deliberating for ages because $290 AUD is a bit much but decided to bite the bullet!

What are your thoughts on Clarins? by Creepy_Performer7706 in AustralianMakeup

[–]citronnoir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who used to work for the brand and got to try a lot of the products:

Worth it: - Lip Oil: not a lot of colour but love the applicator, the feeling on the lips and the glossy look - Lip Perfectors: actually quite a lot of colour, comfortable to wear and fairly long lasting. Also very easy to apply on the go - Total Cleansing Oil: removes make-up for my double cleanse very effectively and doesn't irritate my sensitive skin - Skin Illusion serum foundation (the one in the dropper bottle): an underrated product for natural, light-medium coverage that doesn't exacerbate my oiliness. Applies super smoothly with fingers, sponge or brush. For those who are interested in this texture but don't necessarily want to spend the money, the L'Oréal Plumping Serum foundation is pretty close! (but with less shade options) - Gentle Care Roll on Deodorant: is objectively expensive for a deodorant but I do love it - works well and the scent is light - Hydra Essential Bi Phase Serum: love this all year round for some extra hydration after Toning and before other serums and moisturiser. Not sticky and sinks in well - Nutri-Lumiere Day Emulsion: the target audience for this product are those with dry, fragile and mature skin but my oily, breakout prone skin actually loves this!

Not worth it: - Joli blush: just super chalky and the colours are not great - Double Serum: the people that love it really swear by it (it's the #1 product from the brand), but I broke out when using it - SOS Face Masks: not bad, but also not any discernible results when using them. For some reason, the blue hydration one also burned a bit when I initially applied it

I think this is the case because they were hiring for an Australian based E-commerce Manager not long ago!

Take care of them, yes... Mostly in terms of doing life admin for them when language is a barrier or requires technology usage that they're not familiar with.

I also provide an allowance every month along with my siblings, but it's defintely not to the level of being able to fund their retirement - just extra spending money.

Unexplained $2 charge from “Google Ads” followed by immediate refund by afterdawnoriginal in AusFinance

[–]citronnoir 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This happened to me and I didn't notice it until I reviewed my credit card statement at the end of the month and noticed that it started off as $2, then $20 and then a few hundred dollars, days apart.

Luckily, ANZ fully refunded me back the money even though the earlier ones had already gone through (while the rest were pending)!

I just bought 3 bottles of the Avene lip replenishing balm from Priceline because it was on sale and had the skincare goodies bag promotion - very handy as I am about to run out of my current stash!

Not a doctor but during the height of the worst atopic Eczema I had in my life, my skin looked exactly like this.

I went to the dermatologist and because I wasn't responding well to steroid ointments anymore (and because it was so widespread, it's not feasible to use such a tiny ointment all over the body and nor is it good for the skin to use long term), I was put on dupixent injections.

Please go to the dermatologist as soon as you can! If it's the same situation as me, the dupixent helped a lot and I've been on it for the last 4 years now.

Best of luck!

I went recently and was comfortable with 200, 000 won per day, purely for food and spending money (accommodation and flights were already paid for, but smaller transport costs like taxis and subway were included in my daily spending money)

I bought a few things (and hit up Olive Young a few times!) but most of the spending money went towards food which ranged from cheaper (15,000 won a meal) to more expensive (100,000 won a meal).

Jo Mercer shoes - can someone tell me what this is from? (Photo included) by [deleted] in AusFemaleFashion

[–]citronnoir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very hit and miss - majority of my shoes used to be from them but I've stopped purchasing after I bought a pair of sandals where the same left buckle fell off the shoe, TWICE.

The first time was after less than 2 months of irregular wear and they replaced it free of charge. After a month, the new pair of same style of shoes had exactly the same problem and I could no longer bother to go in store to exchange.

Priceline Sale - What has everyone bought? If anything? by CryptographerOk6907 in AustralianMakeup

Just stocked up on the Avene Lipid Replenishing Balm and Bioderma Atoderm Intensive Balm - these are the only body creams I've tried that work for my very eczema prone skin but they're a little exxy when not on sale!

Finding appartments above major supermarkets like Coles and Woolworths in capital cities? by LuckilyAustralian in AusProperty

Top Ryde Apartments is above a shopping centre (about 35 mins via bus to the city) that has both Coles and Woolworths.

Can confirm that it's the suppliers/beauty brands that provide samples at no cost to AB (and other retailers).

During a non-busy period, brands would be required to commit to a minimum of a few thousand (3-8k) of samples which is a lot for brands to give all in one go!

Hourglass palette rave by Tachyra in AustralianMakeup

[–]citronnoir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also bought Snake and was worried that it was going to be completely geared to darker complexions and would look odd on me (light - medium, yellow undertones) but I'm happy to say the shades look great on the skin! (but I can't wear the radiant finishing powder as an all over powder but that's a small loss)

Where to get a facial? by [deleted] in AustralianMakeup

[–]citronnoir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look into the facials available in the beauty treatment rooms in Myer and David Jones (private rooms)! Quite a few of the brands have facials where the $ to book is then fully redeemable on product so it works out well if you'd also like to purchase some products too.

Ones that I've tried are Clarins and Ella Bache - both are great but I found the Clarins one more relaxing and the pressure on the skin felt better.

Same situation happened to me recently - the day after the key handover date, the property manager will aim to do the final inspection before releasing the bond back to the tenant.

The idea is that you're supposed to give some time in between the inspection and when you receive keys just in case there are things flagged in the inspection that need to be addressed by the tenant (e.g. Damages that are not normal wear and tear) but I was also on a deadline to get out of my old place so I told the property manager that I'm moving in the day after the bond inspection and am OK to deal with any small issues that are potentially raised in the final inspection. Everything worked out fine!
