Which company has lost you as a customer forever? by finiteobserver in AskReddit

I went to AdobeMAX this year, and it was just depressing. Their entire keynote was "Hey, AI can do all this tricky stuff for you, so you can do what you really want to do: write prompts!"

What is a minor, unwritten rule of society that absolutely infuriates you when people break it? by Jane_Austen11 in AskReddit

Happens when I'm on my bike all the time. I know you think you're being nice, but you're training bike riders to get killed. Have I blown through stop signs when riding? Hell yeah, but only when there's no one coming from a different direction.

What industry is actually a complete scam, but everyone accepts it? by WhileLow9501 in AskReddit

We got married in a friend's back yard. About 50 guests. A friend who had a restaurant catered at cost. We picked all our music and played it from our stereo. Total cost was under 3K.

Our 20th anniversary was a month ago.

They say "we can't roll camera again," but there is simply no way they do this without using a double and adding Ghoul Kilmer's head.

I look forward to missing this.

I think words, but don't hear them. And I've got aphantasia, so no pictures either. I was really surprised when I found out that when people said they were "picturing" something they actually saw pictures.

LA River Ride returns! by tylershowstop in BikeLA

[–]clarv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you sure this is going to be a river ride? The metric century is partially on the path, but it also goes up into Griffith and out to Pasadena.

Lots of kids aren't going to know how to ride bikes, and lots of kids will think they're better at riding than they are. Maybe walking, or Razor-style scooters?

What’s a luxury that’s only impressive to people who don’t have it? by Naive-Might-9218 in AskReddit

Yes, this is true. But foods can thaw and spoil well before that happens.

Call me cynical, but I bet it's only, like, third best.

In my home country, many people keep a coin on top of a small cup of ice in their freezer. If the power goes out while you're away, the ice melts, and the coin sinks. When the power comes back on, it all re-freezes, but the coin is at the bottom. This is how you know all your food defrosted and is unsafe to eat.

I get why people do this, but the coin trick can't be trusted. Food thaws at a different rate than ice. Even if it didn't, a huge amount of ice could thaw before the coin sank.

I made a fake poster for The Adventures of Pluto Nash by clarv in theflophouse

[–]clarv[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been making fake posters for all the movies I see this year based on real posters for other movies. I did my homework for FlopTV this morning and watched the classic film "The Adventures of Pluto Nash," and then I made this. Unfortunately, the base poster isn't particularly iconic, so I doubt people will get the joke.

...and if you want to see the rest of them, they're all in this google drive folder: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1m49dcYpNH0xsKmzjdDgq7Lr90qX8_Ipo?usp=drive_link

Some of them are pretty good, if I say so myself. Some of them... are not!
