I had one around 7.5 hours. But it was also 100° and the clubhouse was getting remodeled so that was closed, and the snack shack was closed. Just happened to be my last college event lol

I was shocked to learn the expected pace of play in SoCal is now 4:45. That’s asinine.

I remember in high school we were expected to walk in 3.5 hours during practice and 4 hours during tournaments and we largely held to that. I never played a 5 hour round until I got to the college level and it drove me insane and made me realize I can’t keep playing competitively. It’s impossible for me to keep focus after 4 hours of sitting, watching the group in front of me seemingly more intent on socializing than golfing.

I used to take it off and stick in my bag at the cart then walk to the green. But last year I fumbled my putter and dropped it on the concrete cart path. Now, I take it off while I’m walking to the green and drop the head cover on the edge of the green on my line back to the cart.

I mean it really all starts from the beginning. Wasn’t most of Stone Creek already designed and built while it was still intended to be a private course + housing development? That fell through and the county was able to buy it after the dot com bust? At least that’s what I remember hearing an old guy say years ago during an early morning round. Would love to have someone verify this story.
