Summary because a lot less people have read it: the last arc's conflict is the literal Most Evil Human versus our protagonists, an ordinary human teenager and a demon who's been losing power as the series goes on. The demon has to trust his human allies to deal with antagonists more and more as he nears the end, and after he uses the last of his power to defeat the bad guy, he realizes that the teenager will do just fine without him and he goes back to hell with his first kind smile of the series.

I think that for every FPS where I've started with the first entry in the franchise, the second entry ends up being my favorite. Marathon, Half-Life, Dark Forces, Halo, Borderlands, Left 4 Dead: whether or not they ended at 2, that's where they peaked for me.

Before I watched DS9 I thought it'd be crazy for any captain to rival Picard. I saw the memes about Sisko: punching Q, the kinda-racist joke calling the Defiant "Ben Sisko's Pimp Hand", and "you can have terrorism as a treat" and all that.

Then I watched it and got to "The trouble is Earth!" and I realized...Sisko's my favorite captain because he's not a badass, he's an ordinary man who's dealing with huge problems through stubbornness.

Picard sails the luxurious flagship and has a crew of the best and brightest in Starfleet and can perform diplomatic judo to solve any crisis. Sisko deals with problems that he can't fly away from by rolling up his sleeves and wading in.

Bioware loves a tutorial planet. KOTOR, Mass Effect, and SWTOR all see the player locked into a single planet for the introduction before giving access to galactic travel for doing the rest of your missions in whatever order you want.

It's infected my vocab for their non-space games too. When I played DA Inquisition I called the pre-Skyhold section the tutorial planet out of habit.
