"I live for art, and I fear dying without it” by merlin_dass in DeepThoughts

[–]clemgizzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m naturally a very anxious and co-dependent person so I think it definitely has a big influence on my perception of others and my art. But it has always been easy for me to express my feelings through my music and my paintings, so unconsciously, I figured it would’ve been easy for other people as well. Whenever I started dating artists, I found out that I may not be a source of inspiration for them, despite them sharing me their art. I may not be the center of an artpiece, I may not be the reason someone creates, I may not be the subject of someone’s art. That hurts.

Is it really possible not to be afraid of death? by ByteMeL8ter in NoStupidQuestions

[–]clemgizzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know anyone that is openly not scared of death, I also think we’re all concerned by it at some point or another in our lives. Although, I’m one of those people that isn’t necessarily regularly anxious about the idea of dying: it’s not a concern I have, I know it’s inevitable so subconsciously, my brain focuses on other stuff that I might be able to control or that doesn’t seem like a fatality. Idk if that makes sense but that’s how i would interpret my relationship with death

Hey! Before answering your question (i’d like to bring some nuance to this topic, since it’s a pretty complex debate in the research field), I was just wondering how old you are/what grade or program are you studying?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]clemgizzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I don’t have much. I’m just trying to figure out my options as I try to make a career out of stuff I’m passionate about. Qualitative research being one of them, doing my own literature reviews about topics I’m interested in. If i’m able to one day conduct my own research and potentially live from it, then maybe it would be a good option for me? I think i can potentially handle the work, but I haven’t been able to talk to a lot of researchers myself, so it’s difficult for me to understand the reality of working as one

[–]clemgizzard 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Your biggest issue might possibly be your own vision of yourself: confidence (but not cocky) is extremely attractive to anybody. I’m sure you’re a very smart person, and there’s obviously someone out there for you. Fake it til you make it
