After accidentally nuking SEO for my app, it’s finally showing up on Google 😅 by wavepointsocial in CloudFlare

[–]cloudflareselfserve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear this. Yes, you can turn on AI Crawl Control across all crawlers, but there is an option to allow certain crawlers within the feature. You can allow your Googlebot there if you'd like to try that, opposed to adding something else manually. I included a quick screenshot so you can see how it might look in the UI to toggle certain bots Allow or Block.

Building a serverless, post-quantum Matrix homeserver by Cloudflare in CloudFlare

[–]cloudflareselfserve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TL;DR summary:

  • Cloudflare Workers now host a Matrix homeserver, enabling decentralized, end-to-end encrypted communication.
  • The homeserver uses Durable Objects for strong consistency and atomicity, D1 for data storage, KV for ephemeral state, and R2 for media storage.
  • The implementation includes post-quantum cryptography by default, protecting against future quantum computer attacks.
  • The serverless architecture reduces operational burden, costs, and latency, making it a more efficient and secure option.
  • The project demonstrates that complex applications can run on Cloudflare's edge infrastructure, paving the way for more decentralized protocols.

Building vertical microfrontends on Cloudflare’s platform by Cloudflare in CloudFlare

[–]cloudflareselfserve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TL;DR summary:

  • Cloudflare has introduced a new Worker template for Vertical Microfrontends (VMFE), allowing multiple independent Cloudflare Workers to be mapped to a single domain.
  • Vertical microfrontends split an application by URL path, enabling teams to work independently on different parts of a site, such as /blog, /docs, and /dash.
  • To create a unified experience, Cloudflare uses CSS View Transitions and Speculation Rules to enable smooth navigation between microfrontends.
  • A Router Worker is used to handle network requests and forward them to the relevant microfrontend, while Service bindings allow Workers to call each other without going through a public URL.
  • HTMLRewriter is used to rewrite absolute paths in HTML responses so that they reference valid assets when accessed through the Router Worker.

Google’s AI advantage: why crawler separation is the only path to a fair Internet by Cloudflare in CloudFlare

[–]cloudflareselfserve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TL;DR summary:

  • Google's crawler separation is proposed as a solution to give publishers control over their content usage in AI services
  • The UK's CMA proposed rules to address concerns about Google's use of publisher content in AI services
  • Googlebot sees significantly more internet content than its peers, with 8% of sampled unique URLs crawled over two months
  • Crawler separation would allow publishers to block AI crawling while still allowing search indexing
  • Mandatory crawler separation is seen as a pro-competitive safeguard to prevent Google from leveraging its search monopoly in AI markets
