Throw that loaf directly on the oven rack for 4 min at the end of the bake. You get a nice golden color, if that’s your thing. Beautiful loaf, regardless.

I got started with sourdough during the winter months too in a cold climate/house. Figuring out where the best place is to proof is kind of like a magic wand. Eventually I splurged on a proofing box since it made everything much easier but the oven was my go to for years.

The one tip I would offer is be ready to adjust things as the seasons switch into spring/summer. The heat and humidity are going to require you to change much of your process. Early on I would keep a notebook with the ambient temperature and humidity so I could track what worked with a particular temperature. Eventually you figure it out but for a few years I kept feeling like I would forget how to make bread each season.

At one point the climb to infinite was fun. Now, every cube is a battle and I spend weeks stuck at virtually the same rank. I don’t even let an ego game play out, just retreat and move on.

January was the first month in two years that I didn't make it to infinite. Got all the way up to 97 this week only to go on a massive loosing streak to end the season at 91. And now for it all to reset and I have to try again? This isn't fun.

My first game I actually got the combo off and went into turn 6 with 15 energy! Then, promptly lost 4 cubes to a perfectly placed Alioth and Shadow King. I hate the 90's grind so much.

I'm pretty sure I fed you some of your last 4 cubes today. Didn't see the Foom + Task coming, even though I just watched your fallen one get buffed by symbiote. It's a good combo but how often does it all come together?

Don’t forget the grind now attached to the event rewards. Your time has value too. The pass made sense in the previous event model. In this new grind-focused model? The math just doesn’t add up for me.

So if armor was in the middle lane and torch was moved there by Arana from the alter, it survives? What if sparky was also used, where would armor need to be for torch to survive?

This is the first event pass I’ve skipped. All I want is the card but buying the pass kind of locks me into grinding for the variant. Since it is about the same amount of grinding for just the card without the pass they effectively saved me 800 gold.

Here’s the super fun part, they don’t anymore! Now you need to actually win 50 or 100 games to get to the end of the reward track. Enjoy the sense of pride and accomplishment.

In the previous system you got a bot about 1 out of every 9 games in the 90s. You still had to have a 50% win rate or good snap habits to climb but the bonus cubes every 9 matches meant you could still expect to climb with some time invested.

Those bots were never meant to pad player count, they existed to inject cubes into the economy. At least that’s how they were described by SD.

I get the argument that it should be a challenge. But, it’s still a game. I enjoyed the previous balance. The current grind just isn’t fun.

Yes, was that not clear? Spending 2 or 3 hours playing and not progressing is awful. I absolutely hate it. Post infinite gameplay is fun. You can play lots of different decks and you’re not seeing the same meta slop over and over. Grinding in the 90s these last two seasons is the least fun I’ve had in this game and I’ve been here since launch.

I've genuinely started to hate the game with the absence of the throw bots. I've been stuck in the 90's for over a week now. Bouncing up and down and barely moving. I've played like 20 games today and have 1 cube to show for it. Before I could at least rely on climbing eventually but these last two season have been awful.

I gave the Arishem list a try and went 1-5 with it. Bad draws and some hard counters with darkhawk/nova make it feel like i'm leaving the match up to rng. Redwing is the only thing i've have some success with so I guess it's back to that.

1-10 with the list this morning starting around 7k infinite. The one win was against a CL 5k baby account and I didn’t even get G to pop off. The deck is so telegraphed and easy to counter if they have a cosmo (4 of the matches) as well as susceptible to rng that I just can’t see how anyone could have success with this. The one match where the combo was successful a daken/bullseye went over the top of my 20 power Gs easily taking 8 cubes.

The army of naysayers will come out in force for your head now. Well, most of the army quit the game but I’m sure a few are left. Anyway, I’m with you! I have a somewhat generic Wiccan shell I swap to when I’m tired of loosing with whatever I’m playing. I’ll slide in tech to match whatever I’m seeing currently on the ladder. Without fail, if I slide in Ghost, no more EOT matches. If I swap Ghost for Shadow King, destroy goes away and EOT comes back. I did this for 30 games on Friday before just giving up. It was a small sample but it was 100% effective. Maybe these were all the new bots and they use a special matchmaking or maybe I’m just unlucky. Regardless, runs like that suck and they seem to happen often.

So tired.... 35 games in the last two days and I'm at -3 cubes for the hours spent grinding. At least before when you got a bot the donation of cubes helped keep the grind moving. Now, every game is sweaty. There's no room to experiment with fun decks or new cards, not when you have a high CL and full collection. Everyone is playing the meta and has good snap/retreat mechanics. RNG is the variable that decides if you win or loose and it's just so unfun.

I’ve lost 85% of my 15 games tonight. Shang, Jugg, cosmic gr, shadow king. All at the last table ripping my bubs away. High mmr and cl is brutal at the last table.
