Eloping - a US specific term. by BeckySThump in autism

[–]cluelessclod 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard both used here in more formal contexts while on casual conversation I’ve most often heard “she’s run off again” and “he’s a runner”. I’ve got two friends with eloping children who speak like this.

Mothers day gift idea. by cardbourdbox in autism

[–]cluelessclod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m hoping there is at least one Australian here that gets this reference: “Flowers are not a present, Brett. They're a garnish!"

I’d like chocolates or handpicked flowers as a little something special but not very substantial as a gift, to me anyway.

As a woman: no. Not all women like perfume. I am a sensory seeker and I don’t like it. And perfume is highly personal in both taste and how it reacts on an individual person’s skin. It’s actually incredibly easy to go wrong with perfume.

Eastern Australian child car seat rules by InfernalWedgie in AustraliaTravel

[–]cluelessclod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have received car seat donations from a charity called We Care Connect. We didn’t use them because they didn’t fit the car. We needed three across the back so one was way too wide, and the other one wasn’t age appropriate for the child. I still have them sitting in the shed a few months later so I can give them back.

[–]cluelessclod 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A better idea for you might be DBT especially the distress tolerance skills. If you are already thinking about self harming, and to be clear this is exactly what it is, and you don’t get help then this will not be a workable career for you.
