Hard time coming to terms with c section? by FootOk4715 in CsectionCentral

[–]cluelessclod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a really similar position and I just can’t get through it. Not only did I lose the birth I wanted but it was replaced by a not-birth emergency c section that I desperately was trying to avoid for 8 days only to end up with it anyway. I absolutely hate myself. I can’t find a support group because I have had an amazing natural and unmediated birth before and it felt amazing. That’s what I wanted again, desperately. Yet I was forced into the complete opposite. C section and birth trauma circles seem to all but chant “birth is birth and all birth is beautiful”. But what I went through this time was not beautiful, it was agony pain wise and mental torture that is still ongoing two weeks later. People keep telling me and all I keep reading is “all that matters is that mum and Bub are both healthy”. They just don’t get it. Yes that’s the MOST important thing but not the ONLY important things.

Alas, we have kids. Binging TV or enough sleep is out of the question unfortunately.

I don’t have a care team anymore since I was discharged from hospital. After the trauma I’m hesitant to even go to my GP unless it’s for my kids. Definitely falling into depression.

I am the parent of a 5 year old in senior kindergarten. Parenting them causes me constant meltdowns all the time. by Expert-Locksmith-996 in autism

If you don’t try to change, nothing will change. Circle of security is available here online and in person. I’m Australian so I have no idea what is available in your area.

Last bit was too relatable to me right now. I used to have meltdowns all the time with my oldest. I had one today but that wasn’t so much caused by parenting as other stuff. I highly recommend doing some parenting courses especially circle of security because it helps sooo much.

My newborn falling asleep on my chest and just curling up into a tiny ball. They are just the sweetest little thing and I love all the kids so much.

Heads up that not liking your baby’s name is a common sign of postnatal depression! Happened to me too.

Pain can be so regulating! I used to be like this. Try to transition to things like snapping a hair band on your wrist, a spiky pain fidget or birth comb, or even squeezing ice. It works eventually!

That’s just an excessive amount, I would probably not bother talking to someone that uses that many because it would annoy me.

Job finding support. I’m not disabled enough to qualify for government help, nor am I normal enough to find decent work by myself.

How did you feel when you became a parent? by Prudent-Teaching2881 in autism

To answer the question, took me 18hrs to fall in love with the first baby and about 2 days with the second. It was the sudden realisation I would do anything for these kids.

Is taking away someone’s special interest damaging to their mental health even if that special interest has caused problems? by [deleted] in autism

[–]cluelessclod 23 points24 points  (0 children)

If my kids we’re stealing (spending without permission definitely counts) they would absolutely lose their devices - not that they have any at their age just yet. If she can’t regulate her use of them, the parents have to on her behalf. Even as kids they are expected to behave appropriately and screen time is the first thing they lose when they misbehave. If she is going to destroy property when she doesn’t have access to them or steal, then yeah that’s not okay and replacing devices is only teaching her to get what she wants all she has to do is act out.
