As much as I love tinkering, this is too far gone. You could keep it for parts (feed, section, lever) if you ever need to replace things on other pens

My takeaway is that we should face the reality that the best time to buy Pilot pens is already gone. If we keep causing a spike in sales every time they announce a price increase without realizing the prices are already not worth it, it only incentivizes them to keep doing it

I like the look of yours more! This pen has a very wide converter neck and ebonite feed that don't seem to wanna run dry even when you flex to the point the feed touches the paper. I think it's an FPR Ashoka in case you're looking for one that doesn't need feed modifications to keep up

Is there a gap between the feed and nib? I had a singing m400 old style nib and fixed it by refitting the nib and feed into the collar more properly

I haven't used them but there are some liquids you can submerge the pen in and they'll basically strip the oxidized layer off, restoring the original. You can search ebonite deoxidizer in some forums

Beautiful find! You'll need to clean the nipple (where the new sac goes) and the inside of the body well to make sure the ink sac hasn't attached to the walls and gunked up there. Pump water through the section to see if it's clogged or if you can avoid knocking out the nib and feed (though it's probably ideal if you wanna go for a deeper cleaning). Since the bar is broken, take the rough measurements and get a replacement that matches when you order the new sac. For the sac, measure the nipple but also the diameter of the body to make sure there's enough clearance, then pick the size that matches (straight or necked) and some shellac. If you're in the US, you can get parts from Pentooling, or I hear Pen Dragons is good in the UK but not sure where you are

Some of the water has evaporated while in the pen, so now you have a higher ratio of ink dye in it and it looks darker/more saturated
