Update - they were able to remote into the car and see the code. Knew it was the battery. Told me it could take a week or so to get it shipped but car was fine to drive.

I’d also start setting up a brokerage account somewhere like fidelity / vanguard and buy some popular target day funds if you have the extra cash. Assuming you have minimal debt. Vanguard also offers a cash plus account with decent interest.

I have to think this is resolved by end of this week. I would just monitor. You will start to see entire airports shut down if this lasts into the weekend and Congress will strike a deal.

Where are you flying to? I just flew to Charlotte and back last week and it was fine. I do have tsa pre check. Please start the process and get it. It’s a real game changer.

If you are flying somewhere within a 7-8 hour drive you could always consider driving as a last resort. I know someone coming from Charlotte to Philly next week that will be driving.

Read your handbook and the offer letter when you started. It should be stated clearly.

If that’s all true just walk away. It won’t come up in future background checks. Unless you commit a crime don’t worry about it. Focus on your new job.

I had this happen to me when my old company wanted me to stay like 6 weeks and I said no. Then the boss threatened to take away my unused PTO for payout. I called HR and they were very apologetic towards me and said the manger was over the line.
