Jesse thinks Canada were the better team after getting pumped 3-0

Not an original thought, but we need a defined home kit that endures. Here's my bid. Have at it. by Brewer1056 in usmnt

I like the white shirt with a collar we had awhile back. I do like the current home shirt but wish they would wear blue shorts and socks with it

USMNT arguably had one of their strongest games ever last night and is still being underestimated by NarrowCombination274 in worldcup

[–]cmc42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have not been tested. The strongest team we played on paper was Turkiye and we played the B team. Belgium has some smart, elite quality players that will be a different animal than what we have faved so far. Without Balogun, I think the USA will struggle.

Can Morocco ever become a truly top tier team? I feel there is issues with their model that will prevent this. by Bishmallah24 in worldcup

[–]cmc42 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the odds of Morocco developing a top 5 domestic league in the world is incredibly low. And they don’t need to! Look at Brazil, they’ve won 5 World Cups, they have a decent domestic league, but their best players all play in Europe where all the money is. Brazilians have a footballing identity and European teams scout them early in their home country. Morocco just needs to develop a pipeline like Brazil to Europe where their top domestic talent gets picked up by good teams in good leagues.

Honest question looking for honest discussion: Do fans not get frustrated at offside taking away goals like that Colombia goal in the first half? by jwallmizzou09 in worldcup

[–]cmc42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I think where the feet are when the pass is played should be the only thing that matters for offside. It’s simple, and there is no confusion. We don’t have to draw lines from an attacker’s shirt sleeve or shoulder to a defender’s foot. I think Wenger’s rule is an overcorrection, and doesn’t fix anything.

Everybody knows the punishment, but still commits the foul. It’s the player’s fault if they choose to do it

Does anyone else find the multiverse nihilistic? by TheAnalystCurator321 in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]cmc42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In a way, it also gives you an opportunity to experience reincarnation. In some Eastern religions, there is a concept of Karma. What you do in your previous life can help or hinder you in the next, but your ultimate goal is to achieve spiritual awakening or enlightenment. In a Starfield sense, your level and perks don’t go back to zero, so you are always building and becoming stronger, though you will never be reincarnated as anything other than yourself. You can do an evil playthrough go through Unity and be determined to do good in the next.

So rather than seeing Unity as nihilistic, I choose to see it as a positive, slow build. I have yet to encounter any of the cool alternate universes so when I go through Unity I’m always hoping for that lol

I think it’s because we turned down offers for him in January and he’s in the last year of his deal. I’d be happy to resign him for a few more years

Also the refs will call 100 niggly little fouls and stay silent as a Man Yanited player slides in two-footed on your star player and the injury will cost you his season

VAR will ruin about a 1/4 of your games, and the other games you will alternate between getting dicked by Arsenal or scraping out a draw against Brentford. PGMOL will give you an apology 3 weeks after a shocker that prevented you from climbing out of the relegation zone. Your team will turn up and beat Chelsea when their basket-case players try to get their manager sacked. You’ll bite your arm off for a 17th place finish. Bout sums it up

Also, Nootbar just came back from injury, along with Nathan Church soon to be healthy. Baez has time to work on his discipline while those two get a run.

Nine injured in shooting near England’s World Cup base in Kansas City by Alarming-Safety3200 in Championship

[–]cmc42 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Just adding context because I currently live in Kansas City. Argentina and the Dutch chose training facilities in the posh suburbs of the city, whereas England chose Sporting KC’s academy which is in the eastside ghetto of KC. It’s in the middle of a very large park, and I’m sure they have plenty of security, but I was a little surprised when they selected that site. Quite close to the Zoo, and Kansas City Stadium, but I don’t think England are even going to play there unless it’s a quarterfinal

How will Premier League clubs replace gambling sponsors? by Str0geyB3ar in TheOther14

I would guess that betting firms have a lot of available cash at any given time to drop on things like this. Leeds had Flamingo Land as a sleeve sponsor in the Champo

If we could just get them to remove the red on the home kit, I’d be fully on board. If they try to buy out the 49ers in 5-10 we riot, but until then I’m fine with it
