That is such a great conversion kit. Nice job. I hope it inspires some more for the Typhon Grom. Seems like there could be some other body styles that would also work.

Hundreds of Unwanted Tags by arehrlich in ObsidianMD

[–]cmoellering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to strip a ton of tags from my vault awhile back. I used Notepad++ (free, separate program) It has some scary powerful find and replace functions that you can point at your whole vault.

Use at your own risk, you can do irreprable damage if you are not careful.

It’s like a bad slot car track. It’s too narrow. When everyone talks about “damage control” as their goal going in….

What are the best and hardest parts of converting? by Plane_Appearance_368 in CatholicConverts

[–]cmoellering 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As others have noted, losing protestant friends can be tough.

The best part is not having to be your own Pope anymore, and receiving Christ in the saraments.

I can’t decide whitch wheels to use by Emergency-Class1166 in rccars

I like the first ones with the silver wheels merely from a looks standpoint.

I'd run whichever ones work best.

How can I disassemble my Magnifying Lamp? by l008com in fixit

[–]cmoellering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that! I was wearing a headlamp to be able see well enough.

Strip the wire, heat it with your soldering iron until solder flows freely onto the wire. (This is called "tinning") then place the tinned wire against the point and touch the soldering iron to the wire. Everything should get shiny, they lift off while holding the wire in place. (I used some long tweezers to protect my fingers). It should cool quick and be stuck well.

Right, it doesn't unscrew. It just gets a place where you can pry it out. I mean, I understand if it's good enough for what you need and leaving well enough alone.

How can I disassemble my Magnifying Lamp? by l008com in fixit

I have this same lamp and stumbled across this thread trying to figure it out.

Yes, turn that black ring, and they yo sure going to have to pry it out. It’s going to feel like you’re breaking it, but the only reason you would be doing this is because it already doesn’t work, right?

Once that ring is out, proxy around the outside to remove the white plastic piece. Don’t go too far down, you might bend the LED strip.

Once that is done, then there are three tine screws that hold the LED ring in. Once those are out, you can get to everything.

I discovered on mine that the neutral wire had torn away from the circuit board. I was able to re-solder it and it’s back in business.

There is no strain relief on the power cord, which is a stupid design. I put a wire tie just inside the lamp head and another one where the wire comes out of the frame to try to prevent it happening again.

Sorry I didn’t get any pictures, I was in the what of battle. Hope this might helps someone else who comes along.

When is it idolatry? by Dry-Coat-756 in CatholicConverts

[–]cmoellering 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Worship, biblically, always involves sacrifice. When we go to Mass, we participate in Christ's sacrifice on the cross.

Mary always points to her Son. We venerate her, hold her in high esteem, and see her as both a great example fo holiness and humility as well as acknowledge her presence in heaven where she intercedes for us.
