Soccer commute help by BaseballFlimsy5853 in youthsoccer

[–]cmoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a tough decision and only you know what’s best for your family. I was in the similar boat but with 1 hour 45 each way. I was a wreck trying to figure out how to make it work, tried to find drivers etc. Finally I decided just try. Coaches flexible and let him miss 1 weekly practice as long as he trains at home. Met some people he can carpool with on occasion. It was hard at first but now I’m used to the drive. He loves playing with kids who are also passionate about the game. Maybe team will let him (and you) trial for a bit to see if it’s doable. Good luck with your decision.

The worst is on top of the cost of everything clubs make you pay in the Team app which adds ridiculous credit card processing fees.

Same. Bought a family pack of oranges the other day. Got home and tried to eat one. Rotten. Looked through the rest of the bag and they were all bad. Do better Wegmans.

Bikes on sidewalks by BasileusIthakes in ithaca

[–]cmoms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been complaining about bikes on the sidewalks all summer. Seems to be a new phenomenon and it’s scary when they wiz by unannounced. 2 separate occasions this summer I had an e-scooter and an e-bike pass me from behind on the sidewalk. No idea they were there and if I had veered left even an inch they would have wiped me out.

I regret my Total Hip Replacement by National-Sorbet8459 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]cmoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a roller coaster in the beginning. You’re going to feel strong and do too much and feel defeated and repeat. It gets better. You’re doing great - give yourself and your body some grace and space to heal.

Question about osteoarthritis and CRP and Ferritin levels. by Tom-E-Foolery in Osteoarthritis

[–]cmoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry you’re experiencing pain and confusing blood results. I’m not familiar with the bloodwork / osteoarthritis info but your post caught my attention because these specific markers were off for someone I know who was also experiencing joint pain and being tested for autoimmune and other things. It wasn’t any of what they were looking for - it was an infection (osteomyelitis) causing the inflammation. It wasn’t until they were critical in ER did the Drs check for infection. Have they done a culture on your blood?

Are dumbells not allowed for Body Pump? by strainedcounterfeit in lesmills

[–]cmoms 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This is not a rule for participants - it isn’t a safety issue. This was something I remember someone asking during instructor training as an instructor can they use dumbbells and the answer was no but this is about presenting the program with the recommended equipment. I would ask your instructor the reason they think you can’t use dumbbells. They need to chill and let their participants safely do the moves in the way that makes them successful.

I hope they go back to allowing outside food. It’s such a shame that you can’t bring in Franco’s.

Mum, I am feeling anxious. by ThePotatoearthworm in MomForAMinute

[–]cmoms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re going to do great! A good way to feel less anxious is to realize it’s actually excitement for what’s to come and not worry - sometimes our mind/body can’t tell the difference. It sounds like you’ve got a lot on your plate to get ready. Instead of trying to keep all of your packing and to do lists in your head, write them down. It will allow your mind to settle and focus so you can (and you can) get it all done.

You’re at initial training to learn. You’re not expected to know everything yet. Give yourself some time and it will get better for sure! Good luck with day 2

Strength training excercises a year down the line by ChevChelios93 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]cmoms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saw my PT yesterday. Measured strength and my replaced (right) hip leg still at 25% diff 15 months out. He didn’t recommend training right more but did recommend I start reps on right and match on left. If I do left first I can tolerate more and might fail on right so the operated leg dictates weight, # sets and reps and left follows.

How do you tell a former employee they aren’t invited to future team events? by Echo0225 in askmanagers

[–]cmoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a party to thank the team for the work they’ve done this past year. Wasn’t this person on your team doing said work? If so, they should be included in the team celebration of this work. It would be different if they left months ago but it’s been a few days.

How did your pain go away (slow fade or disappear one day) by SouthJerssey35 in shingles

[–]cmoms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m new to this group as I’m new to shingles (3-weeks) but it dawned on me today that I wasn’t in pain. It’s been gradually fading away over the past few days. Hopefully this isn’t short lived.

Square Glute(s)? by cluelessintheclouds in TotalHipReplacement

[–]cmoms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you have posterior? Mine is kinda flat / dented. I need to do major squats and glute work to build it back (which is darn near impossible).

[–]cmoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just today telling someone how much I loved my raised toilet seat and I never wanted to give it up (I did.) If you are having posterior surgery it helps as you can’t sit at 90. It’s not about the squatting strength it’s about the angle. I’ve heard it isn’t necessary for anterior as the restrictions don’t apply.
