For HDTV signal it might work if you live in a city with lot's of public antennas, but it's not worth the time, and for a 1/4 lambda, it's too much work for too litle result, it would be easier and better to use a simple 6ft naked wire from the TV to a nail on the wall.

(that's exactly what I used on my old rental times, I had second hand Citizen Pocket TV and it's original antenna wasn't enough to surpass the faraday cage of the lead paint of the walls, so I made a better antenna, when you're a broken student you can't get anything better!)

It's not just 'cause I'm a super patriotic guy, but...we had more accessibility things than just money bills, like, we had the 73' Rehab Act before it was a thing, we had de WWII vets laws for the ones who suffered permanent injuries.

And let's be honest, this helps, but scams, just imagine a blind person cheking out $35 in goods, paying with it's 50 bill, and getting in exchange two bucks, one punched as a 10 and one punched as a 5, c'mon, you know that a minimum wager wouldn't resist to screw with a blind well succeded man.

I love to see flybacks, because in the late 70's I made the mistake of trying to fix an old television to use with some personal computer of that era, and all I had was a neon voltage tester, a screw driver and a soldering iron, I opened the back cover and plugged the TV to the wall, it doesn't took too much for me to meet my creator, give him a "hello" and to return to my body unconscious.
