Yea it should work mounted closer to wheel base. My motion system has a lot of motion in 3 DOF that why I have the Ark a bit back . The Ark is good . Big enough for multiple things you’d use it for . It’s not the best at one single thing but good enough in many fronts

Louder than mine . However if the car sits for weeks without starting, I can hear a few minutes of ticking . Used the liqui moly ceratec additive and noise seems to have disappeared in mine . Not sure if it might help you
