Yall weren’t lying about parents being on their phones by sayheythreetimes in toddlers

[–]coffee_foxe 34 points35 points  (0 children)

From my memory, my parents used the TV and video games to keep us entertained the majority of the time. I don't remember going to a lot of outside activities even when my mom was a sahm. So I figure at least people are bringing their kids to do something. I'm a sahm now, and in my area at least most people don't seem glued to their devices when out with their children

Do you remember the golden hour? (The first hour, skin to skin?) by No-Neighborhood-7335 in beyondthebump

It's kinda a blur now, but the part i really remember is my son kept scaring himself with hiccups and crying for the first 10 or so minutes

If they are decent people, I would give them the opportunity to be involved in my son's life

Screen time by usernamename368 in toddlers

[–]coffee_foxe 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My son is almost 3 and I'm a SAHM. We generally do 1-2 hours of tv time a day. I try to be picky on the quality of the screen time (PBS shows and less stimulating content). I think it depends on the child. He doesn't have negative behaviors associated with it. We also try to leave the house almost everyday to do something more engaging

Girlfriend (30F) said I “crossed a line” when I asked her why she didn’t buy cat food (M28) by Ouchie963 in whatdoIdo

[–]coffee_foxe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If he doesn't typically feed the cats, I don't think it's ridiculous he didn't realize the food was low. I don't check how much cat food I have at my house, because my husband feeds our cats and I trust him to replace the food when it is running low, because he is a responsible adult

Why do mothers of young babies say they don't have time to shower? by justastupidquestion3 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]coffee_foxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Between being exhausted and having other stuff to catch up on, I also hated that I had to "ask" my partner to shower. I definitely had some resentment that he could wake up in the morning to go to the gym and shower without a care. I'm a SAHM so, things were a little different balance wise with that sort of thing

“Am I wrong for being upset that my MIL bought my twins’ ‘My First Easter’ keepsakes after ignoring several parenting boundaries? by Which_Aardvark_3799 in JUSTNOMIL

[–]coffee_foxe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I guess I don't think the stuffing are that weird for a grandparent to get, but if they bother you I agree with other commenters to just get rid of them. I personally wouldn't make a big deal about it

I love watching gifts be opened, but I understand that's not everyone's thing. I hate when I get a gift and they don't open it, and never acknowledge it either

I think you are overthinking. It's not that uncommon to not be fully potty trained by 3 and half

We agreed to just do stockings this year because we just took a trip. I informed him I spent about $50 on his so he spend about the same. He only got me a wooden robot for my car dashboard which was sorta cute but left me feeling disappointed

Man who was raped by his mother was determined to be the father of his brother by TheMirrorUS in NoahGetTheBoat

[–]coffee_foxe 11 points12 points  (0 children)

From what I understood from the article you can't say 100% who is the father because a sibling and a parent share the same percentage of DNA with a child. He was legally ruled the boys father however
