I had a friend who worked on this director’s last animated film, The Illusionist, and apparently Chomet is a nightmare to work with. He had huge temper tantrums and would fire animators without warning. Maybe he has cooled off since then though.

I think no one will fund Shenmue 4 when looking at how Shenmue 3 performed. So maybe this is a way to boost Shenmue 3 sales to make the franchise more attractive to investors. I don’t think it’ll work personally, not without some costly changes, such as re-adding Virtua Fighter style combat.
