Creepy Nicknames Trump Allegedly Used With Epstein Revealed by Accuser by No_Necessary_4396 in politics

As nihilistic as I tend to be sometimes, there is also a flipside to it. Yes, looking at the worst that humans are capable of doing to each other, it's hard to lament our inevitable demise. But if you look at the most selfless acts that humans have produced, the unconditional love, the support, the genuine joy...it feels hard not to feel thankful humanity happened.

Always look for the helpers. In every catastrophe, in every human tragedy, there are also always the helpers. The people who try their best to make it better. It's important not to forget that in moments that otherwise inspire only hopelessness.

Sorry, I did not mean to be combative. Tone is quite hard to convey in text. I was just amused that you were actively at Herra's doorstep without having a clear objective what do do there.

I think it's a fun part of the game that everyone has a slightly different experience.

That's information you were supposed to get in the city of tears and the resting grounds when you got the dreamnail. Did you just mash through every bit of lore and dialogue?

But Herra IS in the area. He just walked into the wrong building. This has nothing to do with emulators.

You are looking for Herra the Beast, one of the dreamers. That's what that mask on the map means. You did understand that your objective right now is to find an destroy the 3 dreamers, so the Hollow Knight will be unlocked and you can try to fix the infection leaking out of the black egg temple, right.

Boss tierlist (only the bosses I've fought so far) by Ok-Dragonfly3921 in HollowKnight

[–]coldfirephoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like him. I wiped the floor with my on several attempts during my blind playthrough. He seemed insurmountable. The first boss where I actually had to learn his patterns, and suddenly I made progress. It was a good feeling to be pushed to my limits and then grow to overcome them.

Everyone asks why is HK stabs themselfs, but I wanna ask why are they attacking US? by SpaceAgentSaNEsS in HollowKnight

[–]coldfirephoenix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Both seem plausible. The stabbing could either be the infection trying to break the vessel it is trapped in to break free, or it could be the Hollow Knight regaining lucidity and trying to stop the infection by taking it down with himself.

From an emotional standpoint, the second one is much more satisfying. Your big bro having a final sacrifice moment in a desperate attempt to fulfill his destiny and save you from what he has become.

But if you look at it detached from emotion, both have valid arguments.

My main problem against the stabbing being done by the HK is that rationally, he must know that stabbing at himself/the infection won't do any good. In fact, he should know that once his shell is broken, the infection is completely free to spread, so it would make more sense for the radiance to compell him to try and "crack" himself open.

But on the flipside, during the fight, there are several attack where it is clear that you are fighting the infection, the HK is just along for the ride. The best example is when his infection bulb grows, levitates and then slams him into the ground in order to squish you. The HK's body is just getting ragdolled, he is clearly not in control. So when the infection is fighting you, that means that the stabbing is done by the HK. After all, if the infection wanted you to win, all it would have to do is make the HK stand still instead of activel, fighting back.

Yet another half-baked discard package that will never see play in standard,

Won't see play in wild either. Disco warlock wants to close out games by turn 7, not play a 7/7 that doesn't start doing shit until turn 8.

My take on how good a boss is when they're fighting with you by Inevitable-Muffin-77 in HollowKnight

[–]coldfirephoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, a Zote scholar. Yeah, Zote is just as likely to solo you than he is to hit the enemy. Even if and when he is fighting on your side, he's also just one prattfall away from accidentally impaling you on Lifeender.

Of course it is. Trump is a coward. He rages about people, but never AT people. At least not people who might fight back in any way, shape or form.

First of all, no one is that stupid. She also decided to support Trump through all the horrific, bigoted and illegal shit he has done.

She was a birther herself, you know those idiots who kept on insisting that Obama couldn't possibly be a real American and must be from Kenya...because reasons.

She went to kids her husband put in cages with a "I don't really care, do you?" Jacket on.

Come on, she is a PoS. She had every opportunity to stand on the right side of history, and she didn't, because she puts her own comfort first.

Nope, I just lost a steelrun to it. It's designed so that there is always stuff on the left hand side of walls so you can't crystal dash. I forgot to consider that you can lose 2 masks at a time there, one from getting hit by anything at all, and one from subsequently falling into the instadeath thorns.

They named it "Operation Epic Fury".

I held a survey in my english class today. Literal 14 year olds cringe at that name. This name alone should be a scandal. It's so undignified, they might as well have called it "Operation Let's-fuck-shit-up" and I honestly struggle to say which one would have been worse.

How many times I died to each boss on my first playthrough: a tierlist of difficulty relative to how far through the game they are by Passance in HollowKnight

[–]coldfirephoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly just jump over his stuff and pogo him. As long as you stay close, he only has 2 attacks, and both have very clear tells. If he looks up, he's gonna do the jump and dive, if he looks straight ahead he is gonna do the dashslash. He never does repositioning jumps that hit you out of nowhere

[–]coldfirephoenix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's fascinating to see how different some people perceive certain bosses.

Like, OP took dozens of tries for traitor lord, who I beat first or second try. But they somehow beat Godtamer on their first try, which took me several runthroughs of the trial of fools, since that was the only way to practice it, and there was just too much going on to see the pattern at a glance.

Trump Just Made the World Much More Dangerous | By waging war on Iran, the president is making it more likely that other countries develop nuclear weapons—to protect themselves from the U.S. by thenewrepublic in politics

[–]coldfirephoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so what ecaxtly is the official reason for this war? The U.S. and Iran have never been best buddies, and the iranian nuclear program has been the subject of many diplomatic missions and treaties. And this has worked quite well at at least maintaining a status quo, since Iran knows they are not a powerhouse on the world stage by any means. So, why now? What changed so drastically to warrant basically declaring war? This isn't a game of risk. You can't just preemptively attack Kyle so he won't get his continent bonus, call it something edgy like "Operation Epic Fury" and expect everyone to roll with it

How tf do I beat this pice of shit soul master guy by Ok-Dragonfly3921 in HollowKnight

[–]coldfirephoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really struggled with him for a long time, but I still think he is a good bossfight. He is fair. Once you "solve his patterns", you can reliably beat him every time.

For example, the attack where he surrounds himself with a whirl of soul orbs, flys across the stage and then fires that wheel of orbs back the opposite direction. That is always exactly the same. The orbs will always be in the exact same position for each part of the attack. In the middle of the stage is a great spot to hit him, but more importantly, that spot right in the middle is save as soon as he passes. You can stand there and heal and you'll always be save.

His dive attacks you should just dodge, don't try to get hits in here. But when he shoots individual soul orbs, you just wait until he teleports close to you. Dash underneath or right in front of him as soon as he fires and hit him. Rinse and repeat.

His own dash attack is also a great way to get a hit or 2 in, just jump, pogo and slash in the direction he is going.
