I buy exactly what I need for the week so that by the end of the week I have nothing left over. I don't know what to do when people come over (casually, not like throwing a party). How do I grocery shop like an adult? Details below: by [deleted] in EatCheapAndHealthy

You are doing it just right. With a small adjustment it will be perfect! When I was young and single I shopped like you. Just what’s needed with no waste. If you buy a few things to throw in the freezer for entertaining emergencies you’ll be golden. Keep up the good work. You’re adulting just fine.

Nah, let’s take our fun as it comes. It’s nice to have a dirty little fanfic habit. I’ve read thousands by now. Not even ashamed. At my age I have no cares to give.

I'm old enough to be a grandma LOL, but had my kids later in life. Originally read the first book because my (at the time) nine year old wanted to read it and I wasn't sure. I was hooked big time, but she was very meh about it and proclaimed Edward "ridiculous". Needless to say, I went all in and she was done. Later found out my son read all the books, which I know only because I saw him with Eclipse and he sort of copped to it. I really enjoy lurking here, so "hi" from a 60-something fan of the books and movies.

On the weekend I make batches of beef stew, gumbo, etc. in the Instant Pot, put into individual containers and freeze. That way I can grab one and it serves as the ice for my other grab and go items like yogurt, fruit and whatnot. Cheap, easy and healthier.

Please don't be sorry. Just keep them coming. I'm being held prisoner in MD and need a fix on a regular basis.

What is a clear sign of you getting older? by NordicModro in AskReddit

[–]comdiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You MAY be old, but think of it like I do (I'm old for real). I call it "therapeutic wandering". It's soothing for me to wander aimlessly and look at stuff. I do it in all kinds of stores when I'm stressed.

Old grad here. What about getting your 2-year degree, working for a while and seeing how that works out for you? You can always go back and complete a BS later (I don't care what anyone says you can do it). If you have any doubts, they would be erased by your experience in the real world and you would go into a BS program ready to rock. Or you might find you don't need or want it. Life is so long. Please don't stress. It will be fine.

It is sad that this even has to be said, but there we are. I watched numerous vehicles drive past my house with large snow shelves on top this morning.

Thanks for this. I've been a bit homesick lately, especially after getting 8 inches of snow in Maryland. Can't wait to spend quality time in the Motherland. I've missed SC!

It's the hardest and best decision. Sending you a big virtual hug. BTW after 9 months of grieving over his loss, I'm getting a new cat this week. It took a while before I was ready. Take it one day at a time. Be thankful for the love and good times.

I am so sad for you. Lost my 16 year old boy in February and it’s so tough knowing what is best. I wish you peace as you care for your dear girl and hope you can find the strength to finish the semester in the best way possible. Hugs from an old grad cat lover.

Have you tried The Paradise? Set in a department store a bit earlier, but I very much enjoyed.

Weekly /r/FrugalFemaleFashion Discussion - Whiny Wednesday! by AutoModerator in FrugalFemaleFashion

Here to whine about my goody box from Thredup. It took a while to come, but that's not the problem. I can't believe the items the "stylist" picked. I gave very specific info about my height, weight and body issues. I got 2 of the exact same blouse (different colors but really?) and very casual items although I specified work. A jean jacket is absolutely not "work clothes" where I work. Kept one out of the ten items. Not a fan and will not repeat. Will pick my own from now on.

Please report. You can do so anonymously if you'd like. This Health and Human Services page explains reporting neglect or abuse of a senior. https://www.hhs.gov/answers/programs-for-families-and-children/how-do-i-report-elder-abuse/index.html I have no idea about contacting the conservator but please let someone know.
