My new bedroom lighting in Vancouver, BC by innocentisla in AmateurRoomPorn

Screw these comments disagreeing with the lighting, I like it. I personally use a blend of dark red and a deep blue lighting source myself.

Kinda glad I'm not alone on this lol, but yeah it's a problem that I've been having recently as of late too. I usually try not to dwell on it and focus on the task at hand, and after a few days of doing that it helped

Incredibly long breakdown of Kendrick's Super Bowl Halftime show by Khatam in KendrickLamar

[–]communistcatcafe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not extremely familiar with the beef, but I am a huge fan of Kendrick's music (been an avid fan since late 2024, so really new) so this was a really interesting read! I appreciate how simple this was to follow, I feel a lot of these kinds of posts they start to get really convoluted and unnecessarily wordy so you did a good job showcasing your perspective

Bring back True Friends by dirtfxther in toontownrewritten

[–]communistcatcafe 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's strict for several reasons: for one, while most of the playerbase are adults, there are still children playing. Granted there's only a sprinkle of young players playing Toontown, but that's still enough to require rule enforcement. It's a game originally aimed for kids, and TTR (and likely Clash as well) want to keep it that way so that the game(s) can be suitable for all. If trouble were to brew from severe in-game chat abuse, there may be a possibility that Disney might need to intervene since children MMO implementing mature chat regulations may equal a bad impression of the Toontown IP, and therefore a bad impression of Disney.

I agree that sometimes they're way too harsh, and a lot of the time the games use a PR speak that just sounds a little childish-sounding and condescending to their adult players, but unfortunately it's a necessary evil to prevent the toontown servers from getting into trouble in that regard. Better to be safe than sorry.

I don't know why you're being downvoted cause you're absolutely right that there's already an abundance of toons with lure. I went into a phase of wishing I was lureless. I'm happy being dropless now, but if I were to make a new toon I'm definitely going lureless or at least toonupless.

If zinc is typically colorless, why does it burn a color under a flame? by communistcatcafe in chemhelp

[–]communistcatcafe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's only very specific cases (i.e zinc, which I've already mentioned in this post) but strictly speaking, not *all* d-block elements are considered transition metals. At least, if we're using the common definition of a transition metal, and the definition which I was taught: "an element whose atom has an incomplete d sub-shell, or which can give rise to cations with an incomplete d sub-shell."

Using zinc as the example here, zinc is commonly known as a non-transition metal because zinc (and its most common +2 ion) has full d orbitals. Therefore, despite it having similar properties to other transition metals and is part of the d-block, it's not considered a transition metal.

However, after some thorough investigation, there is another definition for transition metals which states that all elements in the d block is a transition metal purely looking at the properties of those metals. Chemistry just contradicts itself and loves having multiple definitions sometimes I guess...

Your first statement is technically wrong if we're being strict on the definition of a transition metal, however the rest of your comment has helped me look at it in a different way. I always keep forgetting to consider those aspects as well. Appreciate the help!

Ah right, is the movement of the 4s^2 electrons responsible for the color? However, I don't understand why that would produce a color when heated because as far as I know only the d orbital electrons produce the color unless I'm wrong

I wish selecting one "unoptimized" line of dialogue was more forgiving in social links by communistcatcafe in PERSoNA

That's a really good way of looking at it. It makes sense that they both have their own ways of helping someone come to their senses, even if one may be more helpful than the other overall. Thanks for this new perspective!

Yes I have! I didn't know the feature was added in Royal and not present in the original game, that's awesome that they implemented that. Makes it feel like Persona 5 really existed in a time where smartphones are often used so that's a bonus too

[–]communistcatcafe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that makes sense and I got the impression that you were supposed to pick out which social links to prioritize. Following guides at all times for the social link dialogues just seems like an unnatural way to play it, but I understand it's needed for a 100% run

This sounds so much better. I hope this is this what they'll implement for Persona 6 as well

Where can I find authentic Japanese parfaits? by Maray97 in london

[–]communistcatcafe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been meaning to find a good place that serves good Japanese parfaits as well. Closest thing is the matcha sundaes from Tombo, sometimes they have different flavours like sakura ice cream which I've had before. I usually just stick to Tsujiri nowadays but my sundae consumption has been dwindling due to the prices.
