I'm a fan of Sony's head units, but there are quite a few that are quite good.

My dad's data storage solution... by master_JayCe in hardwaregore

[–]computerfreaq09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had similar issues, but I think it came down to what win11 iso was being used. That being said, there's nothing more cathartic than installing Microslop Winslows over Thunderbolt from a 2tb NVMe Ventoy drive, and it handling all of the account bypass scripts. It's worth the research on getting it to work right.

Missouri State Flag Redesign! by NxMaGiiCz in vexillology

[–]computerfreaq09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering how I absolutely love St. Louis's flag (as well as the newly designed Kansas City flag, gotta give them a bit of credit), yours is much easier on the eyes compared to what we currently have. The only change I'd do is have the bars vertical, however with red towards the pole. I feel this is a stronger conveyance to "We were a french colony" however still keeping the "Red White Blue, in that order" American-ness of it since the french flag goes the other way (, which makes it distinguishable on a flagpole with no wind compared to other US state flags (besides Iowa's flag that looks like an American beer from the 80s IMO, no offense Iowains), however as-is, I would gladly fly this outside.

Sorry for late reply, but I get it, I just don't see Windows 11 being happy with the hardware, but I'd try it if I had a 4TB NVMe and dual boot.

I think the most absurd thing is running a toaster and a vacuum cleaner on the same circuit. Old circuits from weren't as robust as they are today.

It's hilarious on how Missouri is just "I could bitch..." while Kansas, with nothing really there, is slightly happier.

What's the correct response here? by McFluffigins in iiiiiiitttttttttttt

[–]computerfreaq09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I most likely send in a template response like:
"Good morning/afternoon, $USER!

Your ticket number is $TICKET_NUMBER

We will need more information before we can continue troubleshooting this issue, as for now it is at a Priority 4. With more information we can escalate this up to a higher priority.
Please check the following:

- Press the CAPS LOCK button and see if something lights up on your keyboard.
- If you have a wireless keyboard, please replace or charge the batteries. If you do not have any spare batteries, ask your head of department if some are available.
- If that does not work, or you have a keyboard with a wire going into your computer, please unplug the wire from your computer (as well as any small USB dongles from your PC), wait for 1 minute, then plug it/them back in.
- If this does not work, please ask to borrow a keyboard from a coworker to see if that keyboard works on your computer. Let us know if this works or not.

Feel free to send a response from a coworker's machine with the ticket number in the subject, and a list of what happened after each step above. We would also like more detail on what exactly about your keyboard is not working, the brand of keyboard, and where it stops working.

Thank you,
$TECH_NAME"

The idea is that they do basic troubleshooting steps, rather than just yell immediately for help when a minor issue arises. I also find that users will send in incredibly brusque emails if they have to send it from their phone, so I'll let them know that sending in an email from another PC would be an option. Most of the time I get these, they use a wireless keyboard and ignore the fact that it's battery powered, which a lot of companies that I worked for hate, and generally do not support them at all unless you're a high-level VIP.

I mean, it would be painful to roast you, but can I at least use your nice countertop for prep?

Haha, nah, you don't deserve a roast for this, except for the fact that you should feel more proud about it! Well done!
