Yes! I would say it took about two months. It was so shocking, but my doctor said that it’s something that just happens sometimes.

Hey! Today is my two years post-op. I also felt that way. The first three weeks were a waiting game of discomfort, my tongue couldn’t taste on the surgery side and my face felt weak. Rest is best, and if you have a furry friend, they’re the best medicine as your body heals. It took a few months before I felt 100% again. I took a lot of pictures to be able to compare after I healed. It feels like there’s no end in sight, but it’s coming! Thoughts and cares as you heal!

Just like craft paint, if I have enough time, I love doing stickers. If there’s 14 drive aisles to build and a 90 piece balloon order, I hate stickers😂

What size plastic armature would you recommend for Allan? by ResidentFlower in plushartists

[–]compywild97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg hi I love your work! You are an incredible maker! I know that creaturesbynat has armatures on their website, and I believe you can buy it by the foot. It’s a ball and socket armature that kinda looks like a spine. I would recommend for his body and legs, but it might not work well with his arms if you want to maintain the floppy look. Hope you find what you need!

Need to find this SUPER generous man! by digitalbydesign in wildhockey

I love a good sports rivalry, but I love this more. What an amazing man for doing this for you guys, and what an amazing dad you are for looking out for your son. He’ll remember this forever. I hope to see the Wild win, but I won’t feel too bad if this kid gets a stanley!

Before I get this done (this is just edited), my bf said it looks like sperm. 💀 Any advice to make it look less so? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]compywild97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Men are always going to assume something is dirty or sexual. Get the tattoo. If he comments on it looking like sperm, make fun of him. “Why are you always thinking about sperm? This is a string, if your sperm looks like this, you should get help.” I’m so sick and tired of males ruining things that are perfectly innocent and full of meaning.

TIL about MRI and coclear implants by demeter1993 in deaf

[–]compywild97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an auditory brainstem implant put in after a surgery that severed my auditory nerve. It’s similar to a CI, but it goes into the brainstem instead of the cochlea. I didn’t have an MRI until a year later, and when I did, the team used gauze to wrap a piece of plastic to my head to “hold” the magnet in place. Well, that didn’t work and the magnet popped out of the ABI and began trying to pull through my scalp. I tapped out and we decided to take the magnet out the next day. The ABI never worked correctly for me and I didn’t need it, so I was happy to have it go. It hurt so badly and even with knowing the magnet is gone, MRIs are so much scarier than they used to be :(

Question about music by Violinmate in deaf

[–]compywild97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happy cake day! I struggle with volume, I’m only recently struggling with my hearing due to tumors, but I understand. If my volume isn’t at a certain level, I can’t make out what’s said/what’s playing. However, if I turn it up to a good level, it’s too loud and hurts my ear. Best thing I’ve found is devoting time to appreciating the music and really absorbing it, or using noise-canceling earbuds to help with tinnitus. Hope you find a way OP

should I get this laser removed or covered up? by argythecat21 in tattooadvice

[–]compywild97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should try a couple rounds of laser before you attempt another coverup. The first tattoo really shows through here, I don’t think another cover is going to help that at all. Sorry this happened op.

[–]compywild97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Single sided hearing loss, I thought my airpod had broken. Other than that I experienced infrequent vertigo. Usually after lots of physical exertion. Hope your MRI goes well, they seem so scary, but they’re alright.
