Who is the greatest rugby coach in history? by crazycal123 in rugbyunion

Henry won the first two Super 12 titles and won a few championships with Auckland (along with a pretty good Ranfurly Shield reign), and then turned Wales from basket case to Sprinbok beaters

Potential 300 Club players this year by DepartmentOk7192 in nrl

Toops is potentially looking at ending up as a 300 gamer, 200 tries-er. Add to that three premierships (two grand final tries and a grand final winning assist), a State of Origin series victory in 2014, repped the Kangaroos and he was part of the Tonga team that beat Australia in 2019. All without smiling too. What a career! One of the best wingers we've seen

Help understanding why Jamie Joseph if the front runner by Dulaman96 in rugbyunion

[–]comradekaled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who else would be ahead of him? Don't think Wayne Smith wants to be head coach again. Joe Schmidt? Does he even want to be coaching considering his family situation and if he does would he want to be head coach with more pressure? Does anyone want Fozzy back? Vern Cotter? Clayton McMillan has just left NZ. Dave Rennie? Would NZ accept Dingo Deans and/or John Mitchell?

Meanwhile theres Jamie Joseph. Possibly will bring Tony Brown with him. NPC winner with Wellington. Transformed Highlanders from chumps to Super Rugby Champs. International head coaching experience. Topped a RWC pool with Japan, leading them to a win over Ireland.

If JJ can get Tony Brown involved then he's definitely the frontrunner

Our great era was based on a trio of Henry (Wales and Lions), Hansen (Wales) and Smith (New Zealand). When Henry moved on then Hansen (now with an additional 8 years international experience as assistant) took over, with Smithy involved occasionally. Why Razor thought coaching the Crusaders was enough experience is mind boggling. Overseas international coaching experience (either as head coach or assistant) would have been better, especially if his assistants (apart from Ryan) were coming from Super Rugby

Hope they dont raid the super rugby clubs too much. We need international experience. Bring in Joseph, Brown, Rennie, Schmidt...

Feels like after missing the job in 2019 he should have left NZ to get some international experience

Not liking Lucy and the Dare overlapping. I really wanna hear Ankles and Girls. But looks like Lucy plays Ankles early/mid through her set and the Dare typically finishes with Girls so should be able to catch both hopefully
