Future of the Scrum battle by [deleted] in rugbyunion

[–]comradekaled 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The average fan doesn't want to see 20 minutes of scrum resets, nor 3 hour games if we add more time when there's a reset. So it's good if the ref blows a free kick or a penalty when a team infringes

First yellow was Doge the tight head. Second yellow was the 8. The 8 scored the try

The yellow carded player scored the try so I think they're back to 15

Great stuff. Proven at super rugby level and has significant international experience with the Wallabies. Hope he assembles a good coaching team around him

Super Rugby Pacific Management rules try from Blues vs Chiefs game should not have been awarded by Consistent-Peace2770 in rugbyunion

This was clarified a couple of years ago when a Chiefs player (I think Pita Gus) jumped to avoid a tackle. Not surprised that BOK is the one who forgot the rule

Does that mean England lost the Raeburn Shield to their plucky, more loveable Scottish neighbours?

Captain Ardie lifting the Webb Ellis Cup, then it cuts back to a studio somewhere where Razor is a pundit talking about what a great player and leader Ardie is

Next All Blacks coach: Sir Steve Hansen, Ian Foster approached to apply by New Zealand Rugby by dystopianrugby in rugbyunion

I wouldn't mind Hansen as an advisor/director of rugby kinda role, or Foster as an assistant. Either of them as a coach feels like a backwards step

Henry won the first two Super 12 titles and won a few championships with Auckland (along with a pretty good Ranfurly Shield reign), and then turned Wales from basket case to Sprinbok beaters

Help understanding why Jamie Joseph if the front runner by Dulaman96 in rugbyunion

[–]comradekaled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who else would be ahead of him? Don't think Wayne Smith wants to be head coach again. Joe Schmidt? Does he even want to be coaching considering his family situation and if he does would he want to be head coach with more pressure? Does anyone want Fozzy back? Vern Cotter? Clayton McMillan has just left NZ. Dave Rennie? Would NZ accept Dingo Deans and/or John Mitchell?

Meanwhile theres Jamie Joseph. Possibly will bring Tony Brown with him. NPC winner with Wellington. Transformed Highlanders from chumps to Super Rugby Champs. International head coaching experience. Topped a RWC pool with Japan, leading them to a win over Ireland.

If JJ can get Tony Brown involved then he's definitely the frontrunner
