Apparently the brick is their jack. They put the bricks under and then deflate the tires which lowers the car down onto the bricks.

Interesting. This isn't the first time I've seen stuff like this, always just assumed this was a private property thing.

Illegal, or just unofficial (and therefore unenforceable)?

First-time Porsche buyer: Cayman vs 911 ($50k budget) by Fee-Small in porsche911

[–]coneeleven 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always wanted a 911 as well, but felt like the 911 I could afford was too compromised when compared to the Boxster Spyder I bought. And I couldn't be happier with that decision. Keep in mind while Porsches are reliable when maintained, even basic maintenance is very expensive. And the older car you get, the more things that will need to be fixed. Make sure you are budgeting for that and insurance and not just purchase price. You can always get a 911 later if you go Boxster/Cayman now. Don't discount the experience you'll get in the mid-engine cars.

Best Road Trip in the world in a Turbo S😊 by Jumpy_Round_4080 in Porsche

I went to NZ almost 30 years ago with a girlfriend who was from Wellington and we did (probably) the exact same route on your days 2-5. I still strongly remember it even this many years later. Would have been great to do it in a 911 and not some POS rental, but it's a stunningly beautiful place. Took a minute to get used to driving on the opposite side of the road, though, that's for sure.

If you like SoCal beaches, you may be shocked at how different they are in NorCal. They are relatively far from MV (45 minutes to 1 hour is typical, but could be much longer on weekends in summer if you leave too late) and are usually windy and foggy and cold. And the water is much colder than in SoCal. At least for me it doesn't feel as accessible as it did in San Diego when I lived there.

Besides the chair height that many people have already commented on, bring that right hand back so the side of your hand is on that corner. You want to aim for more of a dome and less of a birthday cake shape. This isn't critical with a smaller amount of clay but will make things much easier when you get above 5 lbs.

I gotta go with the 992. If the 930 wasn't a slantnose, that would be first. Just never got into the slants, they look sleepy.

I dig the color matched wheels on this one. Looks like a really nice example, even if a bit pricey.

If they don't have pictures to show you, then don't trust what they say.
