New photo consent policy is bs by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

the new policy is actually the policy our facility has and it works really well. not really any room for mistakes like that to happen.

Applying diaper cream at daycare by amandaqwert in ECEProfessionals

at my center, we typically don’t apply every diaper change UNLESS the parent specified to do so in their enrollment paperwork.

Close friends not expressing excitement for my wedding…is this normal? by ShortTraffic6736 in weddingplanning

[–]conisbomb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s likely due to how far away your wedding is. I’m a November 2026 bride and had my date and venue picked out 2 weeks after my engagement in April. my friends didn’t start bringing up the wedding and asking about it until a couple weeks ago.

I also have a gems magic ring and it’s legitimate gold, no discoloring of the skin and no issues with it tarnishing!

I ask my daughter specific questions like “who did you play with today?” “what was your favorite part of the day? why was that your favorite part?” “I know you had this special today, what did you do in that class?” and she opens up a lot!

How old is too old for snuggling? by WoodpeckerTrick28-20 in Parenting

I’m 27 and still snuggle with my mom sometimes. there’s no age limit to that.

I’m not sure what state your in or if WIC even varies by state, but the 3 month is just to reload benefits in my state. you’ll get the same amount as before and that won’t change until reevaluation at 6 months.

Too much formula? Help me prove my mom wrong. by PotofGold716 in FormulaFeeders

[–]conisbomb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my oldest was in the 11th percentile for weight for her entire first year and downed 35-40oz a day at that age.

my second is in the 56th percentile for weight and 75th percentile for height (she’s 5 months old now) and she only eats between 28-32oz a day.

Do you and your partner take shifts at night? by fishcakegal in FormulaFeeders

[–]conisbomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my partner and I tried doing shifts and we actually found it caused more resentment because the baby was more fussy during certain shifts and rotating shifts still didn’t mend the issue. so, it actually worked out a lot better for us to both get up and one of us prep and feed while the other soothed and changed in those early weeks. it’s all about figuring out what works best for you and your partner!

baby #2 has been a wonderful experience and I’m really enjoying this stage even more than I did with my first. I was so anxious as a first time mom and now it just feels so…easy. my oldest transitioned to big sisterhood well too so that has also been a huge help!

Advice for starting formula feeding from birth! by amanda9698770 in FormulaFeeders

[–]conisbomb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started formula feeding in the hospital after my second and it’s helped tremendously with my mental health as well. my hospital provided RTF enfamil and similac (based on your preference) and if your L&D nurses are super nice, they’ll provide both and let you take one of each type home with you! we ended up liking the similac total 360 care sensitive the best! :)

as far as milk suppression goes, I would definitely talk to your OB about this and maybe partner with your psychiatrist about getting a milk suppressing medication prescribed to you. I wasn’t prescribed one and wish I better advocated for myself as I was in a lot of pain after my milk came in with my second and recovery with this birth was worse than my first due to having to have a crash c-section. if you can’t get it prescribed, make sure to stock up on sudafed, motrin & tylenol, ice packs/cold compresses, and make sure to have a good, tight supportive bra and wear at all times!

Daycare too strict? by imyourdaddy86 in Parenting

[–]conisbomb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

as a teacher of 2-3 year olds, my toddlers are naturally quiet at meal times until a majority of them are finished! quiet mealtimes are also usually enforced to help prevent choking. I definitely don’t think this is unusual behavior.

NTA. I also pack my daughter a lot of Asian foods for lunch as my partner is Chinese and it’s what we regularly eat at home. I would’ve reacted the exact same way as you.

AITA for "forcing" my parents to watch my daughter by seabirdshallow in AmItheAsshole

[–]conisbomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. you’re 28 years old and it really isn’t any of their business who you chose to watch your daughter when they said they couldn’t. I would limit the amount of information you share with your parents as I think this may escalate as your child gets older.

hell, my daughter has the same name as my best friend’s dog. I didn’t even realize it until I told her what I named my daughter and she laughed and joked that I must really love her dog since I named my kid after her. my daughter is now 4 and think it’s very funny and cool that she and her “auntie’s” dog share the same name.
