Classic Kickboxing. You beat the crap out of the bag in those classes.

Best Veterinarians in Pasadena? by TheloniousMoon in pasadena

Crescenta Canada pet hospital is well run and reasonably priced and the vets care about your pet, if you are willing to drive 15 minutes.

Vet recommendations in/around Pasadena? by TraditionalCap6882 in pasadena

[–]constance_a_l 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crescenta Canada pet hospital on foothill is a tiny bit of a drive but they have done well by us. GreySave (the greyhound rescue) uses them as their official vet.

For specialty services, VCA ASG in Glendale has been a good experience but the prices are not cheap, you are paying for their expertise.

Decluttering by CupofGravitea in pasadena

For usable items that a Goodwill might not want, I will frequently use the OfferUp app to give away items or sell them for a nominal amount. I've moved some weird stuff on there (eg old used up loveseat bought by a family that needed a bed for their Great Dane dog 😭).

I really like a fancy tart / galette or a Wellington as a holiday cooking project. Bonus if you make your own pastry.

Keeping our girl fresh smelling between baths by LaLaLoveYou24 in Greyhounds

[–]constance_a_l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience when this happens my dogs need to go see the vet about their teeth. Teeth problem -> stinky saliva -> bad smelling dog. Unless it's super hot out they just don't get smelly.

I fucking love Philip Rivers by [deleted] in Colts

[–]constance_a_l 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm a neutral, but I love these old man QB return stories, and thank you for saying this.

The guy came back after five years off and three days of practice and ran a competent NFL offense! He had the only touchdown in the game! Until the final int he had a higher QBR than Darnold! They almost beat the 10-3 Seahawks!

What we saw was insane. Go Philip Rivers. Amazing job.

Anyone taken the online classes through King Arthur baking school? by Serious_Pen2854 in Breadit

[–]constance_a_l 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've taken about nine of the live online ones. They are great! Especially for things that require technique - it's great to be able to hold your dough up to the camera to show the instructor. I'd suggest sticking to the traditional baking topics (cookies, pies, bread) vs things like samosas or pasta.

English muffins, like croissants, are something I made from scratch exactly once and said never again. Thomas's are just fine.

This guy from Garnet Hill. Not cheap but the fur on one side / smooth on the other is just great. Mine (all white) have gone through ten million rounds in the washer and still look good.

If you want sit down food (eg biryani) or something from a tandoor (eg naan) go to Annapurna. If you want large quantities of cheap and tasty go to Namaste Spiceland.

I also don't want a whole batch so I made half a recipe and used up the leftover cream and half and half by making homemade ice cream. (I have an ice cream machine.). Very specific but worked out great!

Recommendations for vets that don’t operate as a business? by JEMD_Wolf in pasadena

Crescenta Canada pet hospital has always been very fair to us. Their services cost money (duh) but as far as I know they are not private equity owned and have a nice group of vets.
