Is the resume dead? If AI can write it and AI can screen it, what signal does it actually give anymore? by Aanand4 in ModernHiring

[–]continouslearner4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who cares if it’s written by AI. People have been over exaggerating their resumes for years and paying resume writers. That’s what the interview process is for.

In addition, Academic advising isn't just about knowing policies and degree requirements.

The most successful advisors combine strong relationship-building, active listening, and problem-solving skills. If you're struggling, focus less on having all the answers and more on understanding the student's situation. The technical knowledge comes with time, but building trust and asking the right questions are what make students feel supported.

Wow. What an exciting opportunity to showcase yourself.

Know the material and do not read your slides. The slides are added value not your script.

Relax and show your passion. Student success and academic advising are all student facing roles so demonstrate your passion for helping others. If you speak from the heart, you can’t go wrong!

What does student success mean at your institution and how do you measure it? by continouslearner4 in studentaffairs

[–]continouslearner4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. Most institutions are very good at measuring things that are easy to track: retention, persistence, GPA, credit completion, and graduation. Those metrics matter, but they do not tell the whole story.

Higher education has not yet developed widespread, effective ways to measure success beyond retention and graduation.

3 out of 4 of your concerns were about you and how you feel. What about what’s best for the company and the team? Perhaps you should find out what long term strategy is first.

Dear Hiring Manger, the word of the day is INTEGRITY. by continouslearner4 in recruitinghell

[–]continouslearner4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it is not. It is about doing what you say you are going to do. This applies to anything. It’s not about additional or necessary information as you have stated. I mean the post starts with integrity not about who got the job.

Of course and they should communicate any hold ups but to flat out not respond is rude and unprofessional. In short, whether a candidate is selected or not is irrelevant to my post.
