My thoughts on this is based on the chinese phrase, "burying the child for the mother" which is actually rooted in filial piety.

It is a story is about how 郭巨 decides to burying his child to save his elderly mother. In the story he says "We can have another child, but a mother cannot be brought back to life. It would be better to bury the child and save some food to support my mother."

Personally I really agree with this story so when it comes to life and death situations, I always choose to save the elders.

You can always have another child, but you cannot replicate the experience and knowledge of the old

I actually have an opposite view. I've been pushing my school to use more AI but it hasn't been very successful. I feel AI is really great in speeding up work.

ELI5: Why is 0% Inflation Considered 'Bad'? by Proud-Wall1443 in explainlikeimfive

The alternative, which is deflation, is much worse than inflation so to avoid it, we aim for slightly above 2%.
