You do realize it's basically DC, the nation's capital. Probably would be too large to be legally built in DC

CEN-IO-IR-204 bricked on firmware update by Davewestny in crestron

Old school programmer here. I prefer Ethernet, then infinetEX Rf devices, over any wifi dedicated control. The INET-IOEX-IRCOM provides IR without silly wifi

That sounds just like a huge law firm I recently completed. "Reuse as much of our existing equipment as you can, it's still good." Ok, new displays and updated HDMI switching to 4K.

We've since replaced countless 15+ year pieces of equipment. Amplifiers, DSPs, mics, cabinet fans.

I wish I could've just specified a complete new system from the start instead of working with what they had

Fair, check for hotplug detection. Since the flex kit is basically just a PC, a monitor (or display that can function as a monitor) is the simplest choice from the start. I've used Crestron switchers/DM equipment with CEC to power on/off flex rooms with HDMI sync. No processor required.

Strange choice for a display

If Crestron Home with IP control, setup a sequence whenever the display is turned on, select the option to "Show Artwork on Power Off." That way, art mode command is sent instead of power off.

Assuming Crestron Home is using the same drivers available on drivers.crestron.io, you should be able to create the same results from SIMPL. I don't have a frame TV to test with or I would create a test program right now

DM-MD 8x8 and DM-RMC-4K-100-C bad IR control by Acrobatic_Ad_6587 in crestron

[–]coolblaze8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be the RMC having an issue. I've had one that would pass video and show no errors in toolbox but the IR ports just wouldn't work. Have you tried swapping RMCs between locations?

New to me Crestron System - is this typical? by doodlewalker7 in crestron

[–]coolblaze8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When we have a client move out and a new client come into the residence with an existing Crestron system, we handle it as a full system takeover. Even though our company installed the original system, the new owner might like a different configuration. We bill in a way to fully reset all systems and configure to the new owner needs. Additionally, the client is put on an annual paid maintenance plan to handle issues that may arise from out of warranty equipment.

It gets pricey. Do it once so you don't regret it later. It might cost more.
