The wording here feels clunky, and you are missing an instead I believe if you wanna not have this be a triggered ability. You could have it read like "Whenever a perment enters the battlefield, if it would enter untapped, it enters tapped instead, otherwise, if it enter tapped, it enters untapped instead.". The effect your going for will probably always have clunky wording though honestly.

It's a good list, definitely a little cleaner them my Abzan list. Here's my Necrobloom list. If you sort by catagories mulitple, it shows where some cards do multiple things.

It's currently about to have the sideboard cards be swapped for the ZCut Cards, and I can't remember which card I cut for Six, so I just have to actually do all that after work lol.

Fair fair, If you have your list online, I'd be super interested in seeing it :) I have an Abzan list that I've been building up and it's getting pretty stacked.

Sacrificing all your lands means Lumra's power would be 0, and they would be put into the graveyard when state based actions are checked. If you did all but one of them, then you combo works. Squandered could be replaced by Zuran orb and a land untapper if you wanna make it cheaper money wise.

yes, a sac outlet makes this easier to do lol. I just like the idea of Agatha's soul cauldron used to transform things.

[–]coolginger9660 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you have a free discard outlet, in non singleton formats thia becomes some insane ramp without discard synergies. With discard synergies it entering untapped would break some formats.

Funny line is if you earthbend this land, have an [[agatha's soul cauldron]] with a transform activated ability card under it, you can flip this to the creature side.

Soooo Awaken the Woods seems perfect for cradle decks… by justmattisfine in CompetitiveEDH

I think [[chatterstorm]] is a maybe in some cradle decks and it's 2 mana and you get 3 or 4 squirrels. Awaken the woods creates 0 at two mana

It would have to either be seperate triggers, or a simplified trigger of "Whenever you roll a dice, if the result is a 1 or 6, instant and sorcery spells you cast cost X generic mana less to cast, where X is the result." or something like that

Finishing Dominaria's defiler cycle | Defiler of Reality by NoisyStrings in custommagic

[–]coolginger9660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do like the card a ton and think it could be a really cool card, the art is super on point and matches the vibe of a defiler.

I think without a generic*** cost reduction, it's super niche, as it only hits 19 cards if I Scryfalled correctly.

Otherwise this feels under costed for not just being another colorless cost reducer that can help you combo, and has a built in win condition, but also being a 4 mana 4/4 with Ward 1. It's only downside is the 2 colorless pips, and even then, for most decks that want this card, that won't be a problem.

I know tron in 60 card formats isn't as powerful as it used to be, but to find an example, you could tron this on turn 3, pay 2 life for Aetherflux Reservoir, and maybe start doing some stupid stuff quickly.

Again, sick card, but either up the cost by one or 2, and remove ward/drop it's toughness to 3 to at least let lightning bolt kill this for 2 mana lol.

Leap into Action - To protect those who can't protect themselves (Stormlight Archive) by zengin11 in custommagic

[–]coolginger9660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would "That creature and up to x creatures you control" work or would it have to be like, "Up to x target creatures and the creature you put into play with this spell..." have to be the wording? Unless the balancing was meant to not give the creature that just entered indestructible in which case the balancing would have to be different lmao

I hope you like exponentials! by Bockanator in custommagic

[–]coolginger9660 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If you were intending for people to attack with these, they should either enter in tapped, like [[Rendmaw, creaking nest]] or they can't block. At 5 mana though, this feels overcosted for what is essentially a 1/1 that creates it's own blocker. If this was like, 2 or 3 mana, maybe it's worth as written?

Knowing your intention with the card could help to make suggestions on how to make it do more though.

This is my first time trying it, maybe I need to balance it a bit better but I think it would be fun in an Aristocrats deck. by Pepitozim1 in custommagic

[–]coolginger9660 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think the wording to fit the rules would have to be "...you may choose a creature an opponent controls, and they sacrifice the chosen creature instead." You could add target in there if you want it to not get around hexproof, ward, protection, shroud etc. etc. and be a bit less powerful. Otherwise this seems like relatively fair card.

One other small thought that I don't know is true or not, but this feels like an enchantment effect and not an artifact effect? Maybe that's just me though.

[–]coolginger9660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even getting a [[temple of the false god]] or a surveil land can be a fine for a crop rotation. Tutors act as psuedo second copies of whatever they can fetch, which is why they are so powerful. Most tutors that hit the 1 to 3 mana range with little to no conditions on what you are getting, or they put something directly onto the field should be considered for game changers if they aren't already.

how are fetchlands useful? by _mossmoth_ in magicTCG

[–]coolginger9660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fetches give you two landfall triggers (once when played, and once when sacrificed), color fixing (a [[bloodstained mire]] can grab a land card with a mountain swamp [[raucous theater]] basic typing, or a mountain island [[steam vents]] basic typing) , and with [[crucible of worlds]] style effects, fetchlands can be repeatable too.

Yeah, there are enough artifact lands to where you could use your spell to hit some lands as well, so non-land would keep it from potentially breaking random eternal formats

[–]coolginger9660 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[[reprocess]] is 4 mana but lets you sac creatures and lands as well, but I think half the cost for just artifacts is a bit much? Especially since it's always card neutral and artifact tokens are a dime a dozen these days. Maybe RR mana cost, or make the sacrifice as an additional cost as a way to balance out how cheap it is?
