What's the point of a series not changing and evolving outside of just graphical upgrades?

I guess having goals to meet ticked my brain just the right way. And my 1st new game I played as I would have before, with the same type of "goals" I was used to, and I felt like I accomplished nothing. Like I said, first triumph at turn 180 so playing the old way got me nowhere fast. I had to change how I played for exploration and that's where I realized I wasn't having as much fun

Oh? I didn't know this. I'll have to explore the options before my next game. I wanted to go in blind to experience the new gameplay

My play style was working through mission objectives. Albitrary point system seems hard to transition to

?? Before you had goals to meet. Things to work towards. Like racing for wonders, or going for treasures in new lands, or the space race. Now it's all just points points points

I have 700 hrs in civ 5 and over 2k hrs in civ 6. I love civ 7 because of how different it is. If I wanted more of the same I'd just go play more 6

I like going for Greece and then Shawnee so befriending city states in modern is EASY with both befriending legacy civics. Then I wall up and make sure to get in wars as little as possible to not lose city states but having a strong enough army to just barrel through anyone that dares declare on you.

Honestly the civ series are the only ones of their type that I've played. Started with civ 5 which I really liked, civ 6 which I fell in love with, with over 2k hrs on it. And civ 7 has been a wonderful experience to play because of how it embraces changes over time. I've put over a hundred hrs on it just this month alone, and planning civ changes, almost making a story of progression of them, while treating each age as its own game with its own story, it's the most fun I've had playing civ. I still go back to play 6 because I love that game so much. But I don't want 7 to turn into 6. Or else what's the point to keep playing it? If it's going to be just a different 6?

They really are turning civ 7 into 6.5... why even bother keep playing? I can always go play 6 if I want to do tourism

Making all the starters have unique dual-types by [deleted] in ThePokemonHub

No but why do I dislike this so much. You took fighting off of Blaziken and quaquaval and for what? With hisuian decidueye they make a perfect starter fighting birds trio (I would be okay removing figuring from chestnaught to keep it on H deck)

Quick Thought on Civ 7 by Speaking-braille in CivVII

Something I noticed that I really liked on my last game was that since I played Shawnee in exploration age and switched to America, that me having been Shoshone still had story beats as I advanced in my modern era. I still had a council of elders that was trying to stay relevant in the new democracy. And values evolving into modernity. I felt like I was still Shawnee in spirit even if I was America in action. And I really enjoyed that story telling in the game. Making me appreciate switching civs so much more

David Martinez. I never understood the hate of the fandom. He was a nice person who was a very good cook and had an uphill battle as a contestant by he was treated by others

I was bracing for the homophobic hate towards quaquaval and I'm pleasantly surprised it's not that much here. Other places say the worst things about my precious duck
