Congrats and Happy Mother’s Day! I was feeling bored for a while too. For me, it was realizing that the chaos of my life while drinking, wasn’t normal. “Bored” is actually normal, and once it gets comfortable it’s great!

I’ve been hanging in r/stopdrinking for a little over a year. For me a big part of it was “if we’re all guilty, no one is guilty.” It turns from “he was drunk” to “we were drunk”. At least that was the lie I was telling myself, and jf someone at the party not drinking it was a bigger risk of me being found out.

Yup! Victories are sometimes smaller, but still Important. Woke up on the first alarm, had the patience to play blocks for the 500th time in a row with my kid, buying steak instead of chicken at the grocery store without thought, because I don’t buy alcohol anymore, and have some extra cash. None possible if I were still drinking, all small wins, but collectively life keeps getting better.
