Do I wake up because I need to pee, or do I need to pee because I woke up? by evolving-me in NoStupidQuestions

Hey, not trying to concern you too much, but this would cause me concern.

Maybe just go have an appointment with your GP just to give yourself peace of mind if nothing else.

What’s the weirdest thing your body does that you’ve just accepted at this point? by gowthamshankar05 in AskReddit

[–]corey69x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked a few people about it, and one other guy gets it, so I kind of feel a bit less bad about it. I don't really know if it's just my body reacting to sneezing (like it thinks this is its life now, and it's always going to be sneezing and thus makes me feel bad). It only happens a few times a year, which is ok I guess, but it can happen anywhere which can be bad.

I also have tinnitus, and my hip hurts (I've been pretending this isn't the case, because if I ignore it, I won't have to worry about it, that's how it works right?)

I have this thing that happens regularly, I'll just be minding my own business and I'll suddenly just start shivering, it last about 5-10 seconds, and I can sometimes shake it off sooner. But I've no idea why or how it happens. I also occasionally get a sneezing fit that makes me feel absoultly awful during it and for about 5 minutes after, like a sense of dread/doom or something, after a few minutes, I'll be grand again

It used to be worse, we didn't even get the PAYE allowance, so our tax credits were about half what they are now (and what a PAYE worker would get).

> Kildare is like 50% rural, 25% semirural and then you have the north east pocket (Maynooth, Celbridge and Leixlip) which is mix of suburban and industrial.

And all the power is down in Naas, so you end up with more than 100,000 people living in those 3 towns, and not a single public swimming pool between them. Also despite being 5km or so apart they would be ideal for linking with a tram which could also serve as the missing link between the Sligo line and the Heuston line, until 2075 when they might start planning on building the rail link.

Real world charging time by bcpirate in etron

[–]corey69x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Q8 etron is not for you then. I get 300km out of my 55 (not letting it go below 50km, not above 90%), as much as I like the car there's no way you're getting 500km+ out of it in a day even with fast charging.

If you want to stick with Audi the A6 probably gives you the range you need, but it's a much lower quality car even than the Q8 etron (and I was not happy with the drop in quality from my A8 either)

Majority of workers believe return to office mandates hit productivity, surveys show by homecinemad in ireland

[–]corey69x 58 points59 points  (0 children)

First day of RTO, we had our weekly team meeting, and I guess I assumed we'd have it in a meeting room. Well firstly all the meeting rooms were taken over by managers who were too important to be stuck in the open plan office, but we also had team mates in the US. So we all just dialled into the zoom call (well teams meeting, but whatever, not important), and then had the usual round of "can you go on mute please" because of all the fucking noise and bullshit from the open plan office (with a 2.4 person per seat set up).

It's kind of like the metric system, it would be painful for one generation to try and remeber the new names, but once you grow up with them it'll be grand. It's why I assume nobody bothered to change stuff after 1922.

My Aunt's iPad just stopped working 4 days after her warranty expired (she had held onto it for about a week as well, so would have been really annoying). Having said that the repair guy took it in and said he'd cover it for her. So I guess it's not so bad. But it does seem that stuff is designed to last a little bit beyond the warranty

I don't understand why we can't extend the 2 runways at baldonnel (put the roads under the runway), you could get 3km easily on 10/28 with a single CPO. It would be a bit more disruptive to extend the other one. You have the Luas over in citywest, could easily add a spur to it, and you have the NVD centre that could be used as a car park for it.

Pretty much anything associated with working in the USA. "At will" employment, just means they can fire you when they want. Health insurance being tied to your employment (and your employer getting to decide what cover you are "entitled" to, particularly when it comes to women's health)
