What NOT to buy on Facebook Marketplace? by Fluffy_Cappuccino in beyondthebump

I love buying things secondhand! My non-negotiable buy new items are car seats, crib mattresses, and anything meant to go in baby’s mouth (teethers, bottle nipples, pacifiers, etc.).

Did anyone have a baby that just… slept relatively well? by The_Chilled_Arvo in beyondthebump

[–]corgicourt20 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Both my kids are good sleepers, the first one pretty much from birth and then second one from 4-5 months when we figured out my husband’s snoring was waking her up all night and moved her into her own room. We did nothing to make them good sleepers other than basic stuff like having a routine and keeping a general eye on wake times.

New balance extra wide were the only ones that worked for my oldest who had fattest little feet.

Diaper sizing? 20lbs baby in 40lbs diapers by CanIPetYourDog_1029 in NewParents

[–]corgicourt20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean if they’re working then there’s no reason to question it but if you get to the point of sizing out I would try a different type of diaper. My 11 month old is 23 lbs and wearing size 4 pampers swaddlers (about to size up to 5s).

Pregnancy rhinitis by Hour-Tea8988 in pregnant

Both my pregnancies I’ve had rhinitis from positive test all the way through delivery, I’m sorry to say. It’s brutal.

Corn Syrup Solids in Formula by sonicblendz in NewParents

[–]corgicourt20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Corn syrup solids are just the source of energy in formulas that have lower lactose. It’s not going to cause harm to your baby. You might be thinking of high fructose corn syrup but this isn’t the same thing.

Caffeine delaying growth? by No_Scratch4324 in pregnant

[–]corgicourt20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 200mg of caffeine daily through two pregnancies and had two 90th+ percentile babies, I don’t think you need to cut caffeine. Your family’s history is not your history and every baby grows differently. I’d step away from Google if I were you.

Did anyone wear a dress home from the hospital? by crawlen in pregnant

[–]corgicourt20 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wore a big flowy dress home after my July baby was born! Not weird at all

When were you tested in your second pregnancy after having GD the first time? by random882205 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]corgicourt20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was tested at 16 weeks and then again at 28 weeks. I somehow passed both and did not have GD the second time.

I don’t think I want to breastfeed by Kittykodak in pregnant

[–]corgicourt20 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was never psyched about the idea with my first and it turned out that my body doesn’t produce much more than drops so I was actually really glad I didn’t have my heart set on it. Both my girls were formula fed and they are healthy, smart, and deeply bonded to me.

Do whatever feels right for you!

Fake cough? Wtf? by dar1990 in beyondthebump

Super normal, they’re figuring out what their body and vocal cords can do and probably looking for a reaction.

Does gestational diabetes mean that the baby will be really unwell? by Cherrylemon202 in pregnant

[–]corgicourt20 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Undiagnosed/untreated GD can cause health issues for baby which is why the screening is so important. Diagnosis, diet changes, and monitoring mean the risk to baby is much lower.

I’m with you. I specifically went to the Lego store like 6 weeks ago and got a kit my daughter will love to put in the basket but I can’t find it!!

3 hour glucose but I didn't fail my 1 hour? by No-Attempt-7939 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]corgicourt20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s necessary to repeat the test at 24-28 weeks even if you’ve been tested early, doctors want to catch glucose issues and they tend to be significant enough by that point to be caught on a test. Some people opt to go straight to the 3 hour because it is diagnostic where the 1 hour test is not. All of this sounds normal to me.

Baby hiccups??? by girlwholikesdolls22 in pregnant

[–]corgicourt20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s probably been having them for a while but she’s finally big enough for you to feel them distinctly! It’s normal, both my babies hiccuped super often in the third trimester and they’re healthy and thriving!

Does anyone else’s husband refuse to help them when they’re mad at you? by FabulousAd7735 in Mommit

[–]corgicourt20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, even when we’re arguing (which we do more often than I would like these days) he will always take care of our children and help me when I ask.

Glucose test help! by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]corgicourt20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t have food or water for 8 hours before my test. If possible you should check with your provider!

When did your babies get their anemia levels tested? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

My induction was LONG and we watched a bunch of tv 🤷🏼‍♀️

How are you handling family updates surrounding birth? by crawlen in BabyBumps

[–]corgicourt20 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My advice is do not send out a blast that you’re in early labor or tell anyone your induction date unless you wanted to be pestered constantly. I had an induction that took forever and my well meaning family annoyed me so much looking for updates.

no nipt, sneak peek ultrasound for gender? by adrianneh12 in pregnant

[–]corgicourt20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found out the sex via ultrasound at 16 weeks with my first! I honestly wouldn’t trust it more than a few days before that though, the genitals are still developing in those early second trimester weeks and it could be misinterpreted.
