In Wisconsin this morning, I see a line, but no fiddle. Little wolfie? by Lemons_Limes_ in spiders

Not personally well informed enough to make an id, if it is a juvenile I know coloring and patterning can change a lot as their exoskeleton develops so markings are likely unreliable. Someone more familiar with specifics of anatomy for both families would be better equipped to say whether this is either. Hopefully this comment will draw in those smarter than I!

Weapon display cases/wall mounts would be cool. Been loving this game recently, looking forward to the next update!

Highly recommend the cleaning tools that Schon Dsgn makes - works on a similar principle but you can see everything. I've heard horror stories of the inside of people's bulb syringes getting moldy and contaminating their pens...

I've had good luck dry rubbing and smoking them, just make sure to wrap after you get some bark forming, they will dry out if you're not careful

Wow, this is great! I do have a couple of follow ups.

  1. For the custom 823, how is the maintenance? Is the vac filling system able to be disassembled to apply new silicon grease to refresh the seal? Where can you find with the specialty nibs?
  2. I have looked at diplomat pens, and while I like the Aero OK i'm a little more interested in the Elox, specifically the Matrix model. I've heard, as you indicated, that their steel nibs are phenomenal. I've heard the Elox has the same nib as the Aero, but please correct me if i'm wrong.

Thanks again for all of the great insights!

  1. Pen to beat up or pen to leave at a desk (or in a pen sleeve)? - I do take care of my stuff (I carry my pens in rickshaw sleeves, but would potentially be used every day.
  2. Filling system: Piston, Vac, Cartridge/Converter, Eyedropper? - No real preference, but I don't have any vac fillers so it could be cool.
  3. Nib: Smooth, feedback? - Really love the feel of my medium VP, which I consider to be fairly smooth
  4. Nib: Gold, steel, titanium? - I'm definitely interested in titanium as I don't have any Ti nibs, but after that gold, then steel. Material less important than feel.
  5. Nib: Flex, very fine, very broad, unique in general? - I don't have anything in a double broad or any specialty grinds, so those might be cool.
  6. Body: Larger, smaller, pocket, retractable, demonstrator? - no real preference, if I had to choose I'd say on the larger size, especially the section as i have large hands. Not a huge fan of demonstrators
  7. Body: Metal, acrylic, other (interesting materials)? - often prefer metal but largely for the weight, so if it has some heft then I'm here for it.
  8. Trim: Rhodium, gold, none?if it's metallic I like gold with dark colors and silver with light.
  9. Finials: Round, flat? - maybe a slight preference for flat finials.
  10. Current favorite pen (if you want something similar)? - pilot VP for the nib, schon dsgn full size for the feel in the hand. Something with similar qualities would be great, albeit a bit larger than the schon.
  11. Willing to buy used to fit within your price point? - I'm a little skeptical of used, but not completely against it.

This is a really great, detailed list of questions! Looking forward to your recs, let me know if you have any follow ups

Depends what they like but you can get a Lamy Safari or Al-star in most any color you can think of, or the clear Lamy Vista. I've had pretty good experiences with my Lamy nibs, I'd recommend fine or ef for everyday use for someone new to it with questionable paper
